Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

That said, I am opting for the Cargraphics long tube headers, as they can be changed back to a catalytic converter in case the state funds this program again.
Leading evidence: 'Replace back' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Jim- Does the Department of Ecology in Illinois require an exhaust check when you get your car licence renewed?

I am thinking of now replacing the headers, keeping the factory mufflers.

However, I don't like the exhaust odor you get running without cats.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am considering a set of
Fabspeed headers with cats
. Has anyone tried them? Worth it?
I have already done a
K&N, de-snorkel
, and
replaced the nasty exhaust outlet "T" with mandrel bent 90s
. I also have a bad catalyst which sets the MIL and ads to my motivation. I am thinking of now replacing the headers, keeping the factory mufflers.
Hi,
I installed them mid-last year on my 2010 BS. I also did the PSE, plenum/tb, and Cobb w/Pro Tune.
Awesome! The power is noticeably greater and the sound at WOT is unbelievable.

The rain washed the salt off the roads and it is finally warm enough so I installed them. I started a blog about it here:
https://jimroal.blogspot.com/2019/03/2006-porsche-cayman-s-fabspeed-headers.html
. I will post some video of the sound after the install soon.
I did just the headers. I had already done K&N, desnorkel, and exhaust T replacement with mandrel bent pipes.
Now that I have been driving it for a couple weeks I have noticed more about the performance and driveability. There is a hill on my way home that has a 45mph speed limit. Before the headers I would have to downshift for that hill, now I don't. The performance at low RPM is smoother and it has more power there. Light throttle operation is crisper than before. The engine is a bit more responsive to throttle input. The power seems to be a bit more everywhere. The difference is not huge but it is noticeable. So, it gained power down low and everywhere else.
Jim- Does the Department of Ecology in Illinois require an exhaust check when you get your car licence renewed? If not, you could have ordered long tube cat less headers and also ordered an O2 sensor plug from Soul that effectively tells the engine your cat is working properly. More power without the converter. My state, checks the exhaust as well as looks for engine codes. This activity will soon stop as the state did not fund the DEQ testing after Dec of 2019. That said, I am opting for the Cargraphics long tube headers, as they can be changed back to a catalytic converter in case the state funds this program again.

I am in the middle of the state, over 100 miles from Chicago and they do not test here. However, I don't like the exhaust odor you get running without cats. I was aware of the options you posted, and several more as well. I felt that Fabspeed made a better quality product than the other brands, and chose the headers with cats so I would not have to deal with check engine lights, or spacers to try to eliminate the light, or the odors. Besides, I can feel all warm and fuzzy about being green
. We all make different trade-offs.
I am buying a Cayman S that has catted Fabspeed headers on it and since emissions aren’t much a concern here I am planning on swapping them for Soul Performance catless headers. If you’re interested I may have a set for sale. Will see/take pics when I pick up the car tomorrow. PM me if interested.
