I know this is a bit of a dead horse but I am looking for some opinions on my choices. I've got a M96 Carrera engine in my Boxster S and is fitted with the Carrera intake runners (intake manifold). I put my IPD plenum and 74mm throttle body from my old Boxster 3.2 engine and works fine. However, the tune I have has room for more air and possibly up to another 20 HP. I have a Soul performance exhaust and catless headers and putting an EVOMS intake filter. So I would like to add the GT3 throttle body to the mix and looking for intake plenum options. 1) Buy the IPD Cayman 987.1 competition plenum and use reducers between the intake manifold and the plenum (easiest as it is almost bolt-on). 2) Buy the IPD 996 Carrera competition plenum and fabricate an extension from the airbox to the TB/Plenum (best transition between plenum and manifold). 3) Buy an OEM 996 intake plenum and an adaptor bracket for the GT3 plenum (cheapest option but may require more fabrication to fit). IPD and my shop are recommending option 1 because of the ease of installation. Thanks for your opinions.
