PS excuse use of silly signs, using a pesky spanish keyboard from a cybercafe whilst quaffing copious amounts of San Miguel.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Yes its perfectly normal. The 1K deposit gets you in the queue. £3K (or about 10% I believe) is normal at spec time to secure the build slot. Think of it this way - when you finally need to pay for the car you'll have to find 4K less.

POST 2Original post

They asked me for a £5k additional deposit at spec time, which I didn't want to pay. They (Lancaster Bow) didn't push the point, so I guess it's not a condition.

POST 3Original post

I paid 1k at time of putting my name on the list. At speccing time I had to pay 10 percent of the total value less the 1k already paid. I understand this is normal, however if you go for a lairy spec they may want more than 10 percent deposited at the time the car goes status X at the factory. DAZ PS excuse use of silly signs, using a pesky spanish keyboard from a cybercafe whilst quaffing copious amounts of San Miguel. Anyone at work feel sorry for me?
