Have been looking at getting the new version 3
Sprint booster
. Anybody have any experience with them?
I put the V3 in my 2009 base a couple of years ago. I've seen a lot of comments that say 'how it should have come from the factory' and I agree. I use the very middie setting and would not consider going back!
Yeah, I'm happy with one in my 2010 CS. Doesn't add any actual power, but makes the car feel a lot more responsive and makes it much easier to rev-match downshifts.
If you have the sport button you probably don't need it. If you don't, the
Sprint Booster
is cheaper than adding the sport button.
Get it. You will not be sorry.
Hi, I'm using PedalBox from DTE-Systems highly recommended for all brands and specialty for
Porsche
?
This product is 100% made in Germany
Best regards
You might want to read the following before deciding to spend your money. It at least adds some science to the topic.

Those links explain what the
Sprint Booster
does to the throttle input to the ECU. What they don't capture is the difference in feel. Even though the car isn't any faster, it makes it feel more responsive and sporty. I've switched it off once or twice by mistake and it's been like "Hey, WTF is wrong with the car? Oh."
The other thing I like about SB is that the stock
Cayman
seems to reduce the throttle input when the clutch is depressed. Being used to driving with a car with a mechanical throttle, this made it annoying (at least for me) to rev match downshifts. With the SB installed everything feels a lot more natural. And like I said, cheaper than retrofitting the sport button that does something similar to the throttle.
I'd suggest actually trying a car that has it. That guy saying it makes your driving style "more jerky" and that you can do the same thing by driving in a "more jerky" style has no idea what he's talking about, for example.
If you are happy with it, that’s great. Lots of people like the effect. It doesn’t change the fact that the product’s only function is compress the range of the throttle pedal.
No question there. Like I said, doesn't make the car a lick faster. Yet still some of the best money I've spent on the car.
Your car has Sport Chrono so you don't need the SB: Sport Chrono does something similar to the throttle mapping when you hit the sport button. Retrofitting sport mode on a car that didn't come with it is $900 for the software + install and coding. SB is $290.
It is almost universally agreed that what makes a
Porsche
so special is the feel.
Sprint Booster
unarguably changes the feel and for most people who have tried it, for the better. Case closed.
The Sportmode button is making more responsive the accelerator pedal but with the PedalBox you can even have much more acceleration response. At each program you will have 0.2 to 0.4 volts more voltage for each signal. The more acceleration is not only in your mind you can measure it.

You could also add the "sport shifter" (
Porsche
-made short shift linkage) option by yourself. I did and prefer it. It's a pain to get that part of the car taken apart — I was always afraid of breaking the plastic tabs. I should have kept it apart for a while so I could switch back and forth to see the difference. Oh well.
Love it. Maybe favorite mod.
