Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just wanted to show how I used the pliers to move the grey lock tab up or forward toward the front of the plug to unlock it, which is somewhat difficult to do with fingers while at the same time trying to pull the plug out.

Apparently using just your fingers to squeeze is not enough.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have my gas pedal off and cannot get the plug out for the life of me. I tried sticking a flat scredriver in there, but it seems I'm doing it wrong and its not budging. HELP! I want to drive! I did read the article already. I guess it's so hard to pull off... I'm unsure exactly what is supposed to be coming apart?

POST 2Original post

Look at the pics in the article carefully after the parts were separated and you can see where the seam is or how it separates, but I concur mine was a real PITA to get apart and I thought I was going to break something because I was pulling so hard. If you can get the thin blade screwdriver to release the plastic tab catch it will get easier.

POST 3Original post

I had to use channel-lock pliers to squeeze (carefully!) the tab and pull the plug out. Apparently using just your fingers to squeeze is not enough. Gently squeeze with the pliers, pushing the grey locking tab all the way in and gently pull it apart when you feel it release making sure not to pull on the wires but on the body of the plug. The grey locking tab will stay in the inserted position until you reinsert the plug and then it will pop out and reset itself. The pic shows the Sprint Booster plug already plugged in. I just wanted to show how I used the pliers to move the grey lock tab up or forward toward the front of the plug to unlock it, which is somewhat difficult to do with fingers while at the same time trying to pull the plug out.
