Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
Getting up to 400hp for the CS would certainly be ideal, but will need more info + testing data b/f looking into possibilities.
Leading evidence: 'Test data b/f looking into possibilities' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test data b/f looking into possibilities' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Our VP of engineering tells me that his prototype alchohol injection unit will knock a second off that time, although he had to reschedule testing while he has the beetles crawling under his skin and the CIA vapor phantoms taken care of.

Suggestion
So if we use the 12 Volt electric fan from the right hand side and move it to the intake side we can have forced induction and away we go.

I would fabricate my own revolutionary design using a computer and some tools.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It worked great except for the freezing problem in the winter which blocked the intake with ice.
I am considering inventing a bolt-on turbo that will deliver close to 400HP at the rear wheels. Shooting for a target of $5000k for the kit.
If you have a wratchet set, you can just bolt it on with a couple of medium sized bolts.
It can be bolted off if you get tired of the extra power, although I am considering a quick-release set up that won't even need bolts.
It would use a piggyback rig that would also bolt on and off.
Should be more reliable than stock.
I am trying to gauge interest. Of course, I would become a sponsor before I sold any on this site.
That will be an option at a later date. Part of the Stage II kit.
I am keeping production costs down and passing on the savings by having no business license, shop, or insurance. I won't spend any money on testing, either.
That is why this would be such a great deal.
putting a turbo on a car doesnt allow it to breathe more freely....kinda forces the car to breathe and i've never heard of a force inducted car having longer engine life either.
Dave I will gladly join you. Although I don't have an engineering degree I'm willing to read certain articles on "how stuff works" to assist you in this endeavour. Might I be so bold as to suggest we make the turbos out of balsa wood to maximize our customers weight/hp ratios?
Getting up to 400hp for the CS would certainly be ideal, but will need more info + testing data b/f looking into possibilities. Best solution is still drop a 997 S engine into the CS?
Hey Dave, can I join the development team? I think I'm qualified since I once rebuilt a Datsun 240Z engine in my garage, adding a turbo and my own custom designed water injection system, in lieu of an intercooler. It worked great except for the freezing problem in the winter which blocked the intake with ice. I cured it by adding alcohol, but back then I couldn't afford to keep buying tequila. Maybe we could water inject the Cayman to cool the intake & have a group buy on the booze.

You are our VP of Engineering. Didn't you get the memo?
I selected you because of your expertise with alchohol. You may have been too drunk to remember.
It is called "litanium".
Twice as strong as titanium and half of the weight.
It is so light that it actually draws weight out of the rest of the car's body when coupled with our forced induction system.
400HP in a 1900 pound car. How does that sound?
This is getting better all the time. Maybe you can get the turbo to extract heat rather than add heat. This would allow further weight reduction by removing the current cooling system.
Do you think this will finally force Porsche's hand?
While you're at it, can you see if you can do something about this stuff I have to buy all the time and stuff into the right front fender?
<actually, I'm almost ashamed to admit that I'm still on my first tank of that stuff!>
With all the extra hardware adding weight towards the rear of the car, I suggest you re-route the drivetrain so that it's front wheel drive in order to keep the weight balance front/rear.
Sorry for my absence. I have been running extensive tests of the turbo kit in my mind and all I can say is WOW!
I am estimating well under 4 seconds to 60mph along with better fuel economy and better sound from the stock
Bose system

Price should come in at UNDER $3500 now that we have eliminated the intercooler and the bearings.
