And this is the way I look at forums, a way to communicate with other people in a conversational tone; we don't need to write each other essays to read or check grammar and spelling unless we do it to 1) find out and correct the true meaning of a post, or 2) point out something funny that comes about because of the incorrect grammar and spelling.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

i ordered xenon conversion kit from xtralights.com for $519 a week ago. i got the parts n went to the porsche dealer to install it( mine didnt come with bixenon so i had no choice but get a conversion kit from this site). after spending 4 hrs at dealer, technician said that the light wont work when the car starts. so we called xtralights.com n asked em wuts up. they say they sent the wrong disabler or something. dealer said that they could've done it within 1 hr if the parts was right but due to the fact that dealer didnt know that they were working with the wrong part until the moment they actually called the xtralighs.com. rep from xtralights said they will send me the new part but refused to overnight it n also refused to give me credit for the money i spent at the dealer for nothing( 3 freaking hrs of labor at porsche costed me $360). all that labor fees dont need to be spent if they sent the right parts in the 1st place. this is the worst online purchase experience i ever had in my life... oh forgot to say this. rep from xtralights.com didnt even say sry for the mistake they made!! wut an aXXholes...

POST 2Original post

Dont forget to mention it at resellerratings.com Thanks for telling us

POST 3Original post

yg, I'm sorry that happenned, I feel bad especially since I reccomended the xtralights kit to you I really would not have that type of mod installed at a dealer though, they charge ridiculously high labour rates for what the light kit install requires (plug and play). In fact, it's pretty stupid of them to try and troubleshoot such a simple plug-in kit for three hours+ - Suneet

POST 4Original post

1. Always make sure you have the right parts by checking their part numbers 2. Don't have the dealership install aftermarket parts at a ridiculous rate Partly this is your own fault; this is common sense. Of course the dealership will keep trying to resolve the problem at $100 an hour (if you're not a friend of the tech). Of course mistakes happen in shipping at any company and its up to the consumer to notice right away and complain. If every company offered to pay any expense that someone called up and asked them to pay, trust me it would be a nightmare. They are not responsible for your dealership install bill. They should ship you a new part for free, but thats it.

POST 5Original post

suneet. u dont need to feel guilty about this... its them who made a major mistake... and the reason i went to the dealer was becuz i wanted to make sure it gets done at right place... didnt wanna do myself n mess it up or take it to some place they dont know wut they r doing... actually porsche finished the job in 1st 30 mins but since then the light wont come out everytime the engine starts(it was working when the engine was off). so they went thru everything again n kept on doing same thing over n over again n finally top technician gave up n said there must be something wrong with the parts. so we called n xtralights said they sent the wrong part... Kor: the part number was right (which was at ouside of the box) but the content was wrong( just 1 part). since i am not a prof at car i do not know wut the part looked like in the 1st place. also i assumed that i got the right part since the part number matched with invoice.

POST 6Original post

I'm with Kor on this one. Xtralights should do the right thing and send you the part, but asking them to pay for the labor is a bit unreasonable. You didn't have to take it to a dealership, which charges significantly more than other installers. By the way, you do know it's spelled "what" and not "wut", right? Reading posts with ghetto grammar like yours is highly irritating.

POST 7Original post

Interpol - what's that saying about glass houses.....

POST 8Original post

Sorry! Correction made. The difference is, of course, that the OP's misspelling on purpose...I always wonder, how much time does someone save per day by typing 3 letters instead of 4?

POST 9Original post

InTERpol, haf yOU EVr ruN intO peEPS THat tYpE LAk Dis on FoRuMS? Because I've always wondered how much time someone wastes by doing that or if they just keep hitting the shift key on accident.

POST 10Original post

If you type as slow as I do, three letters will produce about one more word/minute than four letters will! Do any of you have kids that are into texting big time? They don't even look at the keypad on the cell. It would drive me nuts to communicate like that...

POST 11Original post

Yes, I have a 16 year old that is a pro in texting messages and keen in all abbreviations (if you want to call it that). Have you seen the TV commercial about the little girl and her mom? The mom is mildly repriminding her daughter about the texting of messages and the expense of it. All this while the little girl abbreviates everything and it is translated at the bottom of the screen.

POST 12Original post

That commercial is great!!! Kudos to the marketing team, I wonder how many folks would of understood what the little girl was saying if they didn't give subtitles?

POST 14Original post

"By the way, you do know it's spelled "what" and not "wut", right? Reading posts with ghetto grammar like yours is highly irritating." interpol: if my post was irritating then skip mine and read others. why did you even bother to reply?? ps. u think i am too ghetto??? then half of the ppl who chat on the internet will irritate u as well. oh yea... maybe the girl from the commercial was ghetto too!!!

POST 16Original post

Because I assumed that since you posted a topic on a DISCUSSION forum, you were looking for people to contribute? I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who thinks that people who can't type proper English on a forum are not just irritating, but also less educated as well. Who are you trying to impress, anyway? Seriously - you think people here respect you because you spell 'what' as 'wut'? Take this as a lesson to be learned: you're not typing your words for yourself to read, you're typing for others to read. And if others have difficulty understanding what you're trying to say, then what's the point of participating in a discussion forum in the first place? Oh, they do. In fact, maybe more than half. But then, most of these people simply don't know any better. I guess you're one of those people - 'proud' to be ghetto. If you think that garners some kind of weird respect or intimidation, you're flat out wrong. So tell me - how much time (in hours) do you save by typing 'u' instead of 'you'?

POST 17Original post

My $.02...leave the ghetto grammar for the Neon, Evo, Civic, etc. boards. One of the things I like about this forum is the educated, mature membership that usually writes in complete sentences w/ decent grammar.

POST 19Original post

do u think i type "wut" to impress ppl?? come on give me a break. i am not saying your point is wrong but why are you getting so upset over "wut" anyways?? and since when this forum got so hostile like this? i feel like i am back in college in rht 150 class. did i make u that much upset by typing "wut" instead of "what"? and was it too much for you me typing "u" instead of "you"?? the point of my post wasnt about this. go ahead and gang up on me criticize about my grammer but for god sake this is internet. i am not in freaking english class.

POST 20Original post

So...in other words you think that you don't need to use good grammar on the Internet?? How does that make any sense? How are you supposed to communicate with others then? Maybe if you typed like a normal human being the first time around, nobody would be making fun of you and would be discussing the original point of your post! You're not in English class but you should be...you obviously failed the first time

POST 21Original post

since you are replying to my post i assume that you do understand "what" i am talking about. Where did i say that you dont need to use good grammer?? It is not the point my man. you got me totally wrong.

POST 22Original post

you just said: "Maybe if you typed like a normal human being the first time around, nobody would be making fun of you and would be discussing the original point of your post!" ok let say i typed ghetto. ghetto ppl are not a normal human being?? now are you a racist??

POST 23Original post

Whatever guy. All I am saying is that when you won't even take the time to type out words correctly you give the impression that you're an uneducated hillbilly. And you don't have to say anything about needing to use good "grammar" (yes it's spelled with an 'a') - your actions speak louder than your words! So if you don't type 'wut' and 'u' to impress people and make you think you're cool or something, WHY DO YOU DO IT?? It can't possibly be to save time. I'd really like to know. Like I said, maybe if you had started out typing like a NORMAL human being instead of a 10 year old, more people would be discussing the problem you're having with your lights than your grammar!   Funny...I didn't know "ghetto" was a race. Would you mind explaining exactly what ethnicity it is that would make me a racist?

POST 24Original post

Guys this is a ridiculous arguement... ygfamily got his point across, xtralights did not deliver to his expectations. He did a service by warning us, so that if we receive a similar product, we don't waste time and money in the install process when it's actually just a faulty part. We live in the internet age, and some people just grow accustomed to typing like they would on AIM or personal emails. - Suneet

POST 25Original post

Ehh whatever...if the guy wants to make himself out to look like a dolt that's his choice I guess. The point of his original post didn't make much sense either...even the title was unreasonable: "do not buy from xtralights.com"? So far nobody's agreed with him that Xtralights should have paid for the extra labor time... Maybe I'll make a purchase from Xtralights just to make a point

POST 26Original post

Okay everyone - I'm going to close this thread - we've been warned about a vendor that did not deliver what was expected... and we've had a grammatical discussion. I think this thread has run its course. If anyone has a problem with its closure, send me a PM. brad
