hey guys i'm in the SoCal area (glendale) i'm looking for a basic drop and decided to go with teh h&r sport spring setup. I'm throwing on some carrera classic wheels 19x8 in the front 19x9.5 in the back with 265's. I want to see where i can get the springs plus install around here, asked a few places out and they were giving me some ridiculous prices. The springs on tirerack are $315
http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/suspension.jsp?&make=H%26R&model=Sport+Spring+Set&group=Sport+Spring+Set&autoMake=Porsche&autoModel=Cayman+S&autoYear=2007&autoModClar=With+Standard+Brakes&partNum=54020&perfCode=S
but places are giving me a quote for $600-$800 for the springs and install.
anyone know of any places around here that know what they are doing?
btw i have the 07 CS w/o pasm.
Thanks guys!

Robohopar,
Take a look at this thread:
http://www.planet-9.com/showthread.php?t=6701&highlight=springs+install
You can also search and find quite a bit of additional information.
From what I have read and heard $600 to $800 for the springs and install is cheap. You need to check and make sure that the price includes realignment of the vehicle. At that price I will be surprised if it does.
Installing the springs is apparently a 3 to 4 hour job (shop quotes and experience from a friends self install last weekend) so at $100 / hr you are looking at $300 to $400 labor. Add springs at $315 and an alignment at $150 to $250 and you are at $775 to $975.
There are several local shops that can do the work, but they are not cheap:
www.gmgracing.com
in Costa Mesa (expensive)
www.hergesheimer.com
in Lake Forest (less so)
Both shops will know how to set up your car properly so that you do not ruin your new tires. There are other shops as well.
You can also send a PM to CCC4321 as I now he had his H&R installed locally, but I do not know where and for how much.
Cheers,

Robohopar,
Check out STATUS auto design in Hermosa Beach.
I will have them install H&R springs on my car in the next two weeks.

I had my springs installed for about $200 (CAN) with an experienced speed shop (RMR Autosport) in Montreal. No need to go to the dealer for that sort of an install.
It's not a tough install, just a bit long (in back).
Good luck.
Hey guys just wanted to say i got my springs installed finally, did it at one of my local shops in SoCal, i'd recommend them to anyone in my area. He did everything for $550 that includes springs, install & alignment. He hooked me up cause i did a few other things but he should charged anyone else about the same price or mabye another bill extra or so, pm me if you wnat the info...ill get some pics up soon when i take some pictures. But love the drop i was hoping for a smaller gap b/w the fender and wheel, but it significantly got smaller, and the car sits really nice to the ground. I also got rid of my wheels and put on the 19" carrera classics 19x8 and 19x9.5, i need some spacers though. I got a lot of room in the back and thinking about a 15mm in the back and maybe thinking of putting a 5-7mm in the front. Any info on spacers i'd appreciate, but you'll see what i'm talking about when you see the car.

Install spacers
Come by my place tomorrow (Sunday) and I will install 15mm and 7mm spacers for you. I have done this already for a few local club members.
