Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

52 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Believe it is the symbol the cruise control system is on. Press button on end of cruise control stalk and see if the green clock like symbol goes dark. Sincerely, Macster.

POST 5Original post

you are now branded "Phil Jr." wait till the gang reads this one LINK

POST 6Original post

YES, Macter got it first, heh heh heh. That is indeed the cruise control indicator & I am on here long enough to know that Phil's name will come up too, Oops...

POST 7Original post

Bawhahahahahah! This brings back fond memories!

POST 8Original post

Just a little over 3 years is all it took! OP, you know that Phil never drove his car, so that was his excuse. What's yours? -td

POST 9Original post

If you want to turn it off, push the button on the right stalk.

POST 11Original post

LOL even the guy who didn't know what the wheel weights looked like knows this one :-)

No, this was just answered before he could ask.... RunForFun - there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers like the ones we are posting.... don't worry you can make fun of a newbie soon too...

POST 14Original post

HOLD ON !! you've been a member since August.......OF 2008!!!! what is your excuse?!?!?!? LOL j/p

POST 15Original post

Ahhh... that explains the green color. I thought you meant a button or dial.

POST 16Original post

Wayne, somehow we need to get word to Phil to come back and read this thread!

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 7800489

yeah, I'll drop him an email later - he'll feel so much better when he sees this.

POST 19Original post

You can bump the button wheeling some times. Then you'll be wondring why is it on.

POST 20Original post

Here Philly, Phily, Phil..... You know that you want to comment.... I can feel your presence.

POST 21Original post

Ya the wheel weight one and this one are so good!! Keep it coming!!

POST 22Original post

come on Phil.... you have been validated....you're OK....speak up now <Ed thinks Phil is printing this out and making an appointment with "you know who" to talk about how it makes him feel>

POST 23Original post

Yeah, I'm here. You have no idea how relieved I am to see I'm not the only one! I have an admission to make -- sometimes, very late at night, I actually dream of the "little green circle...." and that it's laughing at me.

POST 24Original post

The darn symbol for the cruise control does NOT strike a guy as being for it. Maybe in the long run Porsche made all the senseless items that light up in the car with a green light for a reason. Blinkers and speed control is all I can think of for now.

POST 25 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

no excuses. i just traded in my 928 for the 996. had to get a car to drive and not just look at. thanks guys

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

no excuses. just traded in my 928 for the 996-had to get a sports car to drive and not just look at. thanks for all the help

thanks guys. i traded in my 928 for the 996-had to have a car that i drive and not just look at.

POST 31Original post

Runforfun, The guys are just having a little fun. Welcome to the BEST forum on this site. Nobody is over-the-top serious here. We chat, we discuss, we throw a few light-hearted barbs at each other from time-to-time, and we offer plenty of "popcorn." Be careful not to ask about oil choices or which 996 is the "best." Feel free to ask whatever you want. Chances are we have already roasted someone before on that topic and you are just dredging up fond memories. LOL! Anyone for an ENZO?

We need to get you another appointment with your brother! Talking of appointments, I'll be back in Philly several times this month, we should get together for lunch.

POST 34Original post

Quotes source post: 7803473

W - always look forward to seeing you. With your new position, I will let you buy me lunch. BTW, if you can find it, post a link to my original "little green circle" post so the OP of this thread doesn't feel like a total moron (like I did).

I assume this is it https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...to-remove.html

POST 36Original post

That is indeed the thread - thanks for posting it. Now, maybe this will reassure our OP that he's not the only one! I thought it was a "speedometer warning" light. Jeez.

POST 37Original post

Quotes source post: 7800046

I guess my "LINK" was a little subtle... but I posted it way back on page one and to the OP... Phil even had the manual

POST 39Original post

It is the symbol for masculinity. It only lights up after a good tussle with a worthy adversity on the track (or street.) It will show as an arrow in a half circle unless you were over 150 or spun it into the weeds, then the arrow moves to the outside of a circle. If you scare yourself bad enough to wet your britches it turns into a pink circle with a cross hanging from it.

POST 40Original post

Hehehe good one. Also don't forget the rear view mirrors have a feature of flashing red or blue lights with a little speaker in the back that sounds like a siren. When you see this feature it means a dark cloud is approaching so get home quick and hide the car in the garage.

POST 41Original post

Quotes source post: 7805391

No danger of that in Phil's driveway!

POST 42Original post

less he accidently rolled out into the street and blocked traffic while making motor noises with his lips

POST 43Original post

I miss you Phil, we've gotta get you down here ...although I'm not sure Dell could handle having us both here.

POST 44Original post

Phil, it's good to "see" you here again! You need to get back into another Porsche. That way you will have a reason to post here more frequently, so we can make fun of ..... er..... I mean, so we can share your screw ups..... uhmmm....... share your "experiences ."

I know, I KNOW!!! But I have to live vicariously through my Rennlist brethren until I can get one of my own, which is why I am still here. In other words, I don't have a life.

POST 47Original post

Another Porsche?? When the Dow hits 12,000, I'm in. I figure I'll be around 85 when that happens.

Uhmmmm..... now that you mention it, I guess I may have to use the phrase "live vicariously through ......." a lot more carefully in the future! In other words....... not only NO, but HELL NO! But I do appreciate the offer! Bawhahahahah!!!!
