Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Found in the drivers footwell near the forward end of the outside seat runner. Just had a look around under the seat and dash but cannot find an appropriate orifice or bit of trim flapping about.
Any suggestions??
A clue is with the direction arrow and the O. I think T is missing from the other end of the arrow and is possibly the headlight beam adjuster for travelling abroad.
It does look different to the one on my headlights so I could be totally wrong?
Its actually part of the fixings for the PCM .. there are 4 of them and you insert an allen key , move it by about 40 degrees and it Pushes the locking tab in so you can remove the unit .
Ive never taken much notice of them to be honest and had'ent realised there were letters on them .. my guess would be O and probably T are a German words and this is an abbreviation for them ..
Clamp , un clamp .. do up undo .. :dont know:
It is also on the head light adjusters but again i dont know what the letters actually stand for .
I have an annoying rattle coming from around the PCM / passenger air bag / dash top so I guess I know where I'll be looking first. Plan is to remove the PCM, insulate any wires and have a drive around.
Thanks
Ian
Noise will probably be the passenger air bag .. but i cant for the life of me remember the fix .. try tightening the bolts for it first.
PCM clip missing is very unlikely to cause a noise .. just an inconvienence when removeing the pcm .
Also Ian .. but spelt Iain
@ infrasilver .. a perfectly logical conclusion and one i at first thought was correct .. but ive not seen that type of fixing in a headlight ..
I had to think a bit to figure it out .. and i never new these had letters on them .. i need stronger glasses i think .
pzero .. :worship: .. i have wondered this for as long as ive been working on these !
So, popped the horseshoe, air vent and whole PCM cradle.
Firstly, one of the four cradle screws was missing so found a suilable replacement.
Secondly, there was a loose plug at the back of the PCM with a wire going into the loom, however there was an identical plug in the back of the PCM with a single (prob coax) wire disappearing into the dash.
Found a second, different clip, on the inside of the lower dash under the PCM.
Any clues on loose plug & clip?
Just going on a test drive to see if the rattle gone?
The blue plug .. i think is the gps antenna .. does the nav system work ?
It is a coax lead .
You have radio antenna , gps for nav and phone .. they all look similar but different colours .. which for the life of me i cant remember .
There should be the same colour plugs on the back of the PCM ... unless someone has removed a system or replaced the PCM.
Basically what doesnt work on your car from the above list ?
The black plastic clip .. thats a securing device for that type of plug connection (the blue one )
Thats the odd thing - there is the same plug, plugged into the back of the PCM on an individual wire - I wonder if there was a problem with the GPS antenna and the replacement had its own wire.
