Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yep it what I got and clears fault codes nicely like I just used it for on a lame CEL the car threw out. Wow! Can it clear traffic tickets too? I'd say go Durametric. You get real time data read outs plus save the data. There are two versions. The ver5 and ver6 which is a beta. The website says you can operate both on the computer....ha ha funny joke. I installed the regular ver5 first then felt frisky and install ver6 since they said it's cool. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A DESKTOP SHORTCUT to ver 5 first before installing the beta version 6. After installing ver6 the regular program route of START then PROGRAMS then Durametric leaves you only seeing the beta version. It takes away the version 5 shortcut for some unlnown reason. At least that is what happened to me with windows 7. I was lucky and the netbook I got with the same color as my car had a desktop link before installing ver6. Good luck and have fun. The comfort of the durametric telling you in plain language is very nice. This is instead of oh me lets browse for an hour to find what error code $#!* means. Then you get real time data which helps figure cause origins otherwise known as trouble shooting. Remember the plain jane durametric is not the race car version they sell that is designed for real time data while rolling. There is a warning in the software and there site stating the lower end version blah blah whatevers isn't to be taken as accurate while in motion.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Walmart is close to me- works & cheap?

POST 11Original post

I was using my Durametric yesterday - and what a great product. My car has developed an odd thing where at low speeds (below 11 MPH) the ABS engages when I'm on the brakes. For example, I'll be coming to a full stop, like at a light, and right before I come to a stop - bzzzezt - the ABS is doing its thing. With the Durametric, I ran a diagnostic on the ABS/PSM system - no faults. Then I decided to "view data" and watch the inputs real time. It logs each wheel speed sensor plus a few voltages. I start moving in my driveway - bingo! The left rear wheel sensor doesn't spit back a value until 11 MPH. So, under 11 MPH, the car thinks the left rear wheel isn't spinning. When I'm on the brakes under 11, it thinks the ABS is needed to let that wheel rotate. Let's see your Walmart/Autozone/Harbor Freight/etc. scan tool figure that out!

Van....I have a cheapy $49.99 reader. You just sold me on the Durametric. But it has to wait a little. Just bought rotors / pads / hardware and GT3 ducts. Project this weekend! Your DIY vid is all cued up!

You're right Van, our code readers only supply the basics compared to the Durametric in your example, but they do assist reading and erasing most codes.

POST 14Original post

Any tool's better than nothing. Budget's always a consideration, too. I'm just saying, if you can afford the Durametric, it's worth it.

Nope but i didnt pay what you paid either!

POST 19Original post

I like the looks of that Durametric system. Anyone know if it'll work on my 356?

POST 20Original post

Quotes source post: 7809637

Oh, I bet it will be good for lots of things... for example, if you put the durametric cable under the 356, and if it comes out oily, you have an oil leak. Not only is it good for diagnostics, but I bet if you're clever, you could also use it to make a replacement fan belt or throttle cable!
