Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I wondered if anybody could help. I am wanting to move the air conditioning controls up a level in the centre console, and replace the cd storage. I will therefore need a new surround trim, rectangle (as the current one is tapered). Does anybody know the part number for this trim or better still, have one they don't need anymore. The whole project is changing the area where the air conditioning controls is to a shelf area (I already have this part) Thank you!

POST 3Original post

This is mine. Seems alot of work to move everything around if a cubby hole available for above the climate controls....

POST 4Original post

The trouble is when your gear lever is constantly in the way of your HVAC. Hence putting it in the higher position.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Alex is exactly right, why Porsche put the A/C controls at the bottom I do not know, that was the main reason behind doing this... However after reading your DIY thread, I have to concede that I do not have the expertise to attempt it, I didn't realise it would be that involved  Oh well.

POST 6Original post

I did got a bit OTT with the method as I had no work on at the time and have the 'tools'. Job could easily be done with a Stanley knife, hacksaw blade and a file. Someone on here I think did it a while ago if you have a search.
