Thanks for comments - think you guys have just saved me a load of cash as really am in two minds to change the originals - just love split rims though!

I changed to the split-rim style alloys and would not go back, they make the car look very special and really set the car off when you've given it a good clean!!

He'll give you a loan set while he's doing yours so you don't have to be off-road for any period, and the process takes about a week - so I'll post up once I've had them done and let you know the result...
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The wheels on my Polar Silver/Metropole Blue leather C4S could do with a refurb but am also considering changing them for something similar (in style) to these:

OR these:

I would keep them at 18" and original offsets and widths....What do you guys think about either of these options? :?:
I went through this a short time ago I decided to moved from 17 to 18s and re shod with some wider tyres so every excuse to change the wheels
Again I stuck with OE turbo design, refurb them in artic silver.I would not swop them for anything else.
They look the dogs!

I had thought about the originals getting them painted in Polar Silver (same as car) or possible black or grey with a machined/polished lip.
Either way I need to get them done but wheely am undecided!
I was just going through this dilemma myself and deciding between a refurb and the TechArt Formula wheels in 19" (I have a 4S 996 with 18's).

:agree: Completely sold on that look. Came across this pic the other day. Think they're called Champion Motorsports RG5 (and they're ridiculously expensive as far as I've been able to find), but oh boy could I see those on my car.

I'm now leaning towards a total refurb and The Wheel Specialists (Leeds branch) have quoted £410 to have all wheels shot blasted, powder coated, painted black, machined/polished lip and laquered. The whole process takes one day.
Just can't make my mind up whether to go:
1. ALL black
2. Black with machined (silver) lip
3. Original silver
I also saw an Arctic silver C4S Cab which had just had its wheels refurbed silver and they did look fantastic.
What do you guys think to these?
Hi
I`ve recently returned to the fold and bought a 98 C2. It had just had it`s wheels refurbed at Metal Magic in Barnsley for a princely sum of £210 and that included balancing and VAT !!!
Gotta say they look pretty good too so they may be worth a call as you seem to be in the area
