No way to run a business even if it is a side operation.
I just dont understand why not just give the customer a confirmation or answer an email and maybe a phone # would be nice.....No way to run a business even if it is a side operation.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Paid for a touchtop via paypal Three weeks ago with no emails or contact and phone # listed with paypal is an old spanish lady! Anyone help this is a rennlist sponsor!!!!Jon D. do know anything about this buddy ?
I paid for a touchtop via credit card about 3 weeks ago also. After a week went by without a shipping confirmation, I sent an email asking for an update. Never got a response, but the touchtop showed up the next day (had to have been in transit before I asked for an unpdate).
So the transaction completed, but with zero communication. BTW, I love the touchtop. Works as advertised.
Let me know what you find out. I'm getting ready to order the Sesame from them. I was just waiting for me car to come in before ordering because I wasn't sure whether to specify a Matte or Shiny switch. What looks best with a 2003 dash?

I finally got a response becuase I initiated an inquiry with paypal. I just dont understand why not just give the customer a confirmation or answer an email and maybe a phone # would be nice..... No way to run a business even if it is a side operation. Look at Eric from bumperplugs, this is a side thing for him and he will contact you every step of the way.
From their website:
Our Policies
Customer satisfaction;
We strive for 100% customer satisfaction. All products carry a 30 day money-back guarantee, a three year warranty, and lifetime customer support. Please contact us if you have any problems, or questions.
Pretty big words like "100%" and "lifetime"!
Maybe the guy's on vacation and left someone else "minding the inbox"?
Wow. If it wasn't for this post, I would not have known these exist. I could use them both, especially the seasame. My wife's Mercedes has the garage remote built in and I've always wished I had that in my car.
I have a question. Does anyone know if these products will effect the Porsche warranty?
Thanks.
Basically a little electronic timer for the soft-top mechanism. Makes the soft-top button work like one-touch windows (vs. holding it down throughout the open/close cycle). Installs behind the dash and the factory soft-top button.
Sheds at least 10 seconds off your normal "c'mon let's go" lap time!
Hold the phone...this cannot stand.
"I finally got a response becuase I initiated an inquiry with paypal. I just dont understand why not just give the customer a confirmation or answer an email and maybe a phone # would be nice.....No way to run a business even if it is a side operation. "
Its time for a little fair and ballanced reporting.
1) You contacted us with a special request to use Paypal. We responded immediatly and granted that request even though we stopped using paypal about a year ago.
2) You placed your order with Paypal. Here we messed up. By having discontinuted use of paypal (all of our orders are web based and generate instant confirmation, except for your special request) we forgot to check paypal for your order and dropped the ball. For that I sincerely apologize.
3) Phone number on PayPal incorrect? Not surprising. It is not used at all except for your special requetst. The contact information on www.sharkworks.com generates 1 business day or better turn around.
4)Your first contact via email to us was a few days ago. You waited exactly 43 seconds between sending your first email and cancelling your order with Paypal. I don't mean this figurativly. I have time timestamp of your email and the timestap of your paypal demand for refund. 43 seconds. We cannot investigate and resolve very much in 43 seconds. Sorry.
4) I personally replied to your email with 2 hours of the time you sent it.
Darren, the customer / vendor relationship is a two way street. It requires some coutesy on both sides. If you had given us as much as 1 day after your first email, which I did recieve and respond to, your issue would have been resolved to your satisfaction.
If any other Rennlist memebers ever have any problems with your order or communicaions. Please feel free to contact me directly at [phone removed] and your issue will be resolve immediatly.

Sorry Darren, I gotta do this: Ed, I see this is your first post on Rennlist.
Welcome!

Ed,
When are you going to be in the )SF Bay) area again?
We need to have another (fast) drive...

Hey Loren. Rennlist user #45?! Is that a tech error or have you really been around that long? Wow.
If I remember right you were chasing me down that drive near skyline, very twisty narrow road and some ...spirited... driving
Actually I am planning to be headed back up there before too long. Will be sure to post something over on the Babblers board.
Cheers
-Ed
Well I am glad you are apologizing at least it seems that way? - Why not try and rectify the situation b/c this is a product I wanted?
In my defense guys I initaiated a Payal investigation as soon as I tried the phone number provided for sharkworks and got a little old lady who barely spoke english.... NO one can blame me there!
Come on Darren! He actually said he he did a special exception for you!!! He EXPLAINED he doesn't use paypal anymore to you! Some people are too quick to jump on the trigger even when others go out of their way for them!!! I know lots of people who referred to Sharkworks for touchtops and they have all been very happy! Some had to wait a couple of weeks to get theirs but that is normal when dealing with ANY company
Yeah! Re-order it! There's a win/win here: you don't let the squabble rob you of the joy of seeing that top move hands free, and Ed gets some airtime as being responsive to individual customers. C'mon, do it!!!
The Credit Card merchant agreements that are carried by on-line buisnesses like SharkWorks are so heavily (unfairly in many cases) written in the favor of customers that the extra effort of insisting on Pay Pal wouldn't, in my opinion, be that worthwhile in most cases.
And besides that, Sharkworks is after all a Rennlist sponsor...
A business reputation is being damaged here.
SharkWorks - If you said you would take paypal, its your responsibility to make sure the payment channel works. Even if you are making an exception, you are still getting the $$s.
Darren - This is a great product. Anyway you look at it, it was an honest mistake. The business is valid, its only $175 -- reorder (not using paypal!) and enjoy!
I just want to say that I ordered from the Sharkworns website and got a very quick response confirming my order and a follow-up e-mail to let me know when to expect delivery. I don't have the product yet (just ordered last week) but so far the communications have been very timely.
