Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi for about the third time in about 4 month when i give the car some welly it throws out plumes of white smoke,it then smokes at startup over the next few days then it clears,is there anything to worry about? cheers Moe :?:

POST 3Original post

Sounds like it might be the air/oil separator. They split inside, and allow the oil vapour into the throttle body - hence the white smoke. Take the inlet tube off the throttle body, open the butterfly, and take a look inside. If there is an oily residue inside, that's your problem.

POST 5Original post

+ 1 for oil separator ...classic tell tale sign. But get it checked out by a good indie or OPC.

POST 6Original post

It's definitely not meant to do that, so get it checked fast. Let us know what it turns out to be.

POST 7Original post

they do sometimes kick out a bit of oil on start up. Mine does it once every 6 months or so - has always done it.
