Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It would be a good idea to reset the fuelling adaption values as you suggested.

surely if it was maf i would hav both tailpipes sooty,it had a bosch maf in 2007,can you test oxygen sensors/lambda any way
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I don't know what year your car is, but if it is a 1997-1999 C2 with mechanical throttle you would need a Porsche tester to read the fault codes properly. A generic OBD2 tester may not show pending codes on a 996 with the early DME (version 5.2.2), as it isn't OBD2 compliant.
oh
its 1999 c4 light only flashed once and hasnt done it since, thought lambda sensor faults dont allways show thts why i was convinced it was that, just ran her again and doesnt seem as bad, will take for blast over weekend and see.
You might still have a pending code which the local garage's diagnostic tester might not be able to read.
Depending on what the fault is/was, it should clear itself from the fault register after a certain number of driving cycles (cold-warm-cold engine).
It would be a good idea to reset the fuelling adaption values as you suggested. Switch the ignition on for 60 seconds (make sure you don't touch the throttle). Then switch it off for 10 seconds. You can then start the engine.
A good old Italian Tune-up often does the trick too!
