Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Previous owner left me with 19x11 rear wheels, running 235/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear. The rears were stretched on leaving a .5" lip of wheel on each side -- no good. I don't want to spend $3k on wheels so I'm having new tires put on. I am deciding between the following set-ups and could really use some help. Option 1 245/35/19 and 295/35/19 with a delta in circumference between the F/R of 5.04% Dia (inch) Cir (inch) 245/35 25.8 81.012 295/35 27.1 85.094 Delta 1.3 4.082 % from OEM 63% F/R % Delta 5.04% Option 2: 245/35/19 and 295/ 30 /19 with a delta in circumference between F/R of 1.96% Dia Cir 235/35 25.5 80.07 295/30 26 81.64 Delta 0.5 1.57 % from OEM -38% F/R % Delta 1.96% Note, here are the factory specs: 2.5" delta in CIRCUMFERENCE between F/R and 0.9" delta in DIAMETER between F/R. What should I do: go with the 295/30/19 in the rear, or bump up the sidewall to a 35? The car is otherwise stock on the suspension, alignment, etc.

POST 2Original post

I can't speak to how well the fits/diameters are, but I suspect the car will be seriously over-tired in the back. What effects will that have? It will probably make it slower (larger heavier tire, more inertia). Dunno on handling. How about clearance to the struts and the fender lip? FWIW - if you keep an eye on the marketplace here, there are often wheel-sets being sold for under $1k. That would put you back to stock sizes, then perhaps the wheels on your car now might have value to someone else, perhaps someone making a track car.. Also - when you have a chance, please visit: New Member Introductions and let us know a bit about you and your car.. and photos are ALWAYS appreciated! POST 3Original post

Nothing wrong with 11’s out the back.. I’d get a 295-30… what is the rear offset? Plans for suspension/lowering?
