Has anyone had similar experiences who can point me where to look to isolate the problem or failing that does anyone know the easiest way of discnnecting the mirro circuit completely in order that I can use the other systems on the same fuse circuit

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 1999 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet on which Fuse 5B continually blows. My local Porsche Independat diagnosed the Mirrors were to blame. They isolated both mirrors and replace the operating switch but the fuse still blows. I am therefore suspecting a wiring short. Has anyone had similar experiences who can point me where to look to isolate the problem or failing that does anyone know the easiest way of discnnecting the mirro circuit completely in order that I can use the other systems on the same fuse circuit
