Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hey everybody. was planning to get a porsche relatively soon but i don't know which one to get. I'm a newbie when it comes to driving high performance cars. I'm looking for a car that I can just use on the weekends mostly and want to keep it for the rest of my life.
I also do have some additional questions:
1. Do the current turbo powered engines last as long as NA?
2. Are there going to be any supercharge kits being offered by the major tuners(RUF,Gemballa,Techart, etc.)that will make it keep up with the turbo?
3. My current car is a 96 Benz C220 and it handles like garbage in any adverse condition(even drizzling rain). Do the rwd porsches have moderate to good handling in
rain(no spinouts)?
4. (Rookie Question)What are the advantages of a NA over a turbo and vice versa?
(i know NA already are better for track use)
5. Do I suffer more problems with the forced air of the turbo?
i appreciate your replies Thanks!
1. A Porsche turbo engine will last as long as the normally aspirated, given you maintain it properly
2. You won't don't a supercharger for a GT3 to keep up with a TT unless you are only concerned about stoplight drag races. The GT3 has similar or better power to weight.
3. The TT will be much better in adverse conditions than the GT3 due to its AWD and PSM systems. As for spinouts, that is usually a driver problem, not the car.
4. Overall, the TT is an easier car to drive fast. It is more comfortable for street use and has more driver aids to keep you out of trouble. They are also very competent track cars, especially if they have some suspension work.
5. A TT should not have any additional problems. Porsche has been building them for so long, they worked out the bugs with turbo lag, heating, etc a long time ago.
From your questions and the experience you mention, IMHO the TT would be the better car for you. The GT3 is more of a raw sports car which will take more experience to drive well and safely, it's less comfortable for street duty, and a little less practicle all around (i.e., no back seat).
You can't really go wrong with either.

If it is a weekend only car and you do not need the rear seats, I would get the GT3. I do not think the ride will be as rough as some people think. Yes, it will be slightly rougher but when you are tired of it you can drive your other car. The GT3 will also be a better investment than the TT over time.
