Is the spec right on it - I've been thinking of one as almost sensible alongside my track-oriented TVR, so useful to have a full weekend test drive from a hire co.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Comfort seats and PDK - not a future classic. Buckets and manual I could easily see 65-70 grand for that

POST 3Original post

£50k is a great price just a shame about the Spec ...... missing all the essentials unfortunately . Not sure where this puts mine price wise. 6200m and all the right bits ........

POST 4Original post

easy 60k car. The R with the correct bits is a better road car then a GT3 imo. easier to live with too.

I don't get why you think these are 50k cars. A 10k premium over a regular S is a big ask for not a huge difference in spec or performance. Sounds more like existing owners trying to big up the price to sell their own on. Even those being offered at near 45k aren't perfect spec, just dealers cashing in. Im still on the look for the right car but if prices creep up will just target something else. Im after a red manual with buckets if anyone wants to sell

POST 18Original post

All I can say is it's the best car I have owned and I have owned a lot. some times cars are so right and this is one of those times. If it were crap prices would drop. yes you can spec or mod a S to R spec for about £2k for the sus. but free buckets and Spyder wheels on the R plus the bit of weight out and the small bhp increase makes it a hoot to drive. I think £45k is a ok price as long as it has Buckets, Spyder wheels, in manual and PSE,SS, PCM etc. I don't see the point for that money if it has Buckets and Spyder wheels missing, just buy a £30k S and put the R shocks and ARB on it. spend £5k on a R and you have a very well sorted machine.

its 50 kiloes lighter, has a mechanical diff, carbon buckets, 10 bhp more, spyder wheels etc. all that stuff makes it a very special car. id pay 20 grand over a similar S for it, no sweat. looks way more aggressive too.

POST 22Original post

Dan911 said: Only Red.. I might know of a nice good spec white one coming up in a month or two? white is a possibility, as it looks good in that colour, though it really would look like a modern version of my current 911. (white with black P-graphics). Having owned a white 911 for 6 years and a black 964 before that, I fancy a red one. Orange would have been perfect! 50kilos is nice but bugger all really in a car weighing approx. 1400kg. I took 160kg out of the 911 and it flies along nicely. I'd agree it's definitely worth a decent premium over an S, it's the perfect A and B road car. It also just looks right sat a bit lower and on the Spyder wheels. I would have paid more for mine when I bought it 8 weeks ago as it's better than anything else with the same price tag. I wanted one that looked a bit different, had loads of black/silver cars and I'm not a fan of white or peridot, wanted either red or aqua blue and this one came up for sale:

MJ911 said: nice, want to sell it? ;-) Albeit another owner talking up the prices eheh. As basically said already , this car is more than the sum of its parts . For me great value . I've been in one then out for a 991 GT3 and then back again . That's how much I rate them .

Looks good in all those colours, I must admit I like the peridot green as well. Mr Demons car looks the nuts.

I think when buying you have to look at resale, buy high sell the same :-) prices have been very stable for the last 2 years.

I'm tempted, especially no my geo is sorted but I'm in 2 minds as to whether I actually need more power (never thought I'd say that!) Exhaust change is next though but that's noise rather than any (if at all) performance gains

Porsche only moved the engine back and added extra seats to the production cars to lower costs and make it more practical. The Boxster/Cayman is the "proper" Porsche, true to the initial concept.

POST 48Original post

you are going to be shocked !! I don't have the words for my car atm, it sounds mega and the midrange is awesome. did you get the 3rd gear pulls from stock to modded ? I was a little disappointed in the gain in times, butt dyno would have said a lot faster, but it's how it feels and sounds which counts, at least it is a bit faster :-) and still takes 8/10th second off a 3rd gear pull with my est 355bhp.
