Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

is this only available in the adaptive seats or do the sports seats have this feature? What's the real difference between these two specs? Thanks guys!

POST 2Original post

From my research, the regular sports seats do not support adjusting the lumbar support. You must either get the power seat package for the non-sport seats or go full tilt and get the Adaptive seats. The PCNA car that they had in Thousand Oaks had the manual seats and there was definitely NO lumbar adjustment. The lumbar adjustment is bi-directional (in-out, up-down) For more info, check out page 45 of the Cayman ordering guide (aka page 15 of Chapter 5-8 available on this web site).

POST 3Original post

The poor man's adaptive lumbar support: fold up a small towel and place it between the seat upholstery and the seat frame (worked with my '99 Boxster)

POST 4Original post

I'm not sure I understand what bi-directional implies but the adaptive sport seats on my '06 Boxster S do indeed have two separate adjustable lumbar support areas. You use the adjustment buttons by pressing the button up or down to inflate/deflate one of the support areas and forward and backward to inflate/deflate the other support area.

POST 5Original post

You can adjust the height of the support up and down. The other "direction" (in/out) is the inflate/deflate.
