Last week thecomputer showed my Cayman sitting on the dock in Finland. Today it shows the car is on a truck to New York and the dealer has already been invoiced for it. VIN 1865 for those waiting and comparing notes. (Now will someone tell me why I can't get the smiley face to insert in my e-mail?)
I was very happy to congratulate you on your soon to arrive Cayman but then when I read that your VIN was after mine I am even happier. No telling which ports and ships are involved but your news seems very good for all who are waiting. There will be a lot of little Crocs running around soon it seems./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/teeth_smile.gif

Alan, the smiley faces come up as a pop-up so if you have a pop-upblocker enabled it may be blocking pop-ups from this site. As you can see Santa Fe chose one.../fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/teeth_smile.gifas did I!

VIN # 0964 also on its way from the port of Baltimore to NYC area for delivery to moi. I just hope the weather cooperates and doesn't snow next weekend, as I still want an extensive test drive before delivery. Times like this, I wish I was back in Calif.
Will your dealers release the car to you ahead of the launch date?
Russ
I believe so. The sales manager hadn't heard anything to the contary from Porsche.
Boy I sure hope so! Mine will arrive a couple of days after the launch, but I would love to hear and see some Caymans driving around in the USA.
Counting the days, Russ/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/beer2.gif
Hopefully, mine left San Diego today for Sacramento and, I would guess, should arrive tomorrow. If that is correct and the dealer doesn't have to hold them........ OMG!!!!! Might feel like a premature ejaculation getting the car Friday and not having to wait another week.
Hang on Karl, Its about the journey, not the destination! /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/wink_smile.gif
Yeah, you are right, I should be patient like RussK, lol. And besides, once we get our cars I'm sure we'll be spending a little less time here... after we send our pictures, of course.
Karl,
You still have to spend time here sharing all of your experiences!
Karl,
I ran out of patience a month ago. I called my dealer 4 times with questions today, I faxed him 2 times and almost emailed him tonight!
Russ
When I heard the two reports yesterday that Caymans had been released from the Ports and on their way to dealers I got real excited. This morning, when my check from Fidelity did not arrive, I got nervous that the car would arrive before the check, so I called Fidelity, put a stop on the check, and had the money wired to my bank.
Well, now it appears that the reports of buyer's cars being released from the ports was incorrect. Of course I am dissapointed, and my banking was in vain, but at least now I am ready for any surprises. If only they would start shipping the cars to the dealers.
