Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

In another thread, Santa Fe pondered an important question which has gone unanswered, until now.
quote:
In fact one 12-pack of toilet paper may not fit.

Hopefully, this relatively new website will become THE authoritative Cayman site. Therefore, it's important that no question, big or small, go unresolved. With that in mind I borrowed an '06 Boxster S from my P dealer & performed some experiments (same front trunk as a Cayman). Enough suspense. Yes SF, a 12 pack of TP fits. In fact, a 36 pack of 'double rolls' (equal to 72 regular rolls) fits easily with room to spare for a couple of cases of beer. I know what you're thinking, but what about paper towels. So, to advance the knowledge base I can report that a Cayman trunk can easily swallow up a 12 pack of MEGA rolls of paper towels. Unfortunately, driving aCayman won't provide any excuse not to do the grocery shopping. And as a parting comment, my rainproof Rubbermaid Action Packer 'track box' fits perfectly, also w/abundant room to spare. Heck, it was a slow news day. POST 4Original post

I managed to put a case of wine in the front of my Boxster S pretty easily. /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/tounge_smile.gif

POST 5Original post

Fine job of reporting LizardS! Care to submit something for the next upcoming monthly Cayman Club newsletter coming out in the middle of this month right around launch time???

POST 6Original post

So, it is possible to take the Cayman to Costco, but you might have to make multiple trips to get the paper towels and the TP - which is a good thing!

POST 7Original post

A trip to Costco in my Cayman would be too much for me to take. Our Costco is jammed packed with people cars and carts going every which way. I would be too nervous to shop. Nice work Lizard!! Aloha Russ

POST 9Original post

I kind of agree with RussK about being nervous about parking. I suppose we could burn a few extra calories by parking really far out and enjoy the walk carrying that big pack of TP. Actually, thinking about it, I'm lucky my dear wife usually buys the TP for me. Of course, that much TP would last me for a couple of years or so.

POST 10Original post

I have a lot of friends that are waiting to go for a ride when I get my Cayman S. Since I will be obliged to show them how the car performs, I'm sure they will put all that TP to good use./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/omg_smile.gif

POST 11Original post

kmns, Let's hope it's after the ride! BTW, where is your car? Any news? Russ

POST 12Original post

Russ, The last I heard it was at the Brunswick Georgia Port. Dealer had no knowledge of when the port would release the Caymans. I asked if he had heard any comments about leaving the ports on Jan. 4 and he had not. Porsche not giving too much info to dealers. Dealer reafirmed that once the car arrives they will let me take it. Being optimistic, I called Fidelity today and asked them to mail me a check. The last thing I need is to get a call from the dealer telling me to come get my car, and to have to wait for the money to come out of my account. I'm sure it will end up sitting in my checking account until Jan. 14, but in case something good happens I better be ready. After waiting all these months, you would think another 12 days would be easy. It seems like my whole life has come to a crawl, especially now that the Holiday rush is over. Thank God for this site.

POST 13Original post

LOLOLOL, this thread is really funny. I hopeyour Caymans better be coming no later than the 14th; otherwise I sense some of us will be going through the undefined zone. God help us all!!! /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/drinkers.gif Edited by - FT on 01/02/2006 7:19:22 PM

POST 14Original post

These last days seem like the most difficult. I thought the closer it got the easier it would be, WRONG! Aloha Russ/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/cry_smile.gif Edited by - RussK on 01/02/2006 8:39:39 PM

I certainly understand, I've been there several times; now... got used to it, it arrives when it arrives /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/drive.gif

POST 16Original post
I generally park my P car at the far end of the lot, away from everyone. It's a bit of extra exercise & I've never gotten a door ding. Funny thing tho, invariably there's an SUV or a pickup parked right next to me when I come back - just the 2 vehicles parked away from the crowd. Weird.[/quote]

mpollard - The paper towels go in the trunk. The TP, if it won't fit under the hatch, sits in the passenger's seat. I'm sure in time someone will publish a detailed Cayman packing guide. /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/beer2.gif

Time is somewhat tight for me right now (unless I can better control my car forum addiction), but ... PM/email me w/what you have in mind.

POST 18Original post

We should start a thread- 'wierdest object in the back of a Cayman'. I think a trip to ikea to see if the flatpack will work!
