Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

I'm guessing it's going to mean replacing the whole unit, and that it's going to be expensive.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the display unit on my 996 c4s seems very confused. while the climate control seems to be working the display is not showing the temp number correctly or even the fan setting is mixed. can the display be reset or does this display need placing. it is as if part of the display lights have gone out. please help Migration info. Legacy thread was 111286

POST 2Original post

This happened to mine too. It's in the shop now being looked at. Did you resolve it? I'm guessing it's going to mean replacing the whole unit, and that it's going to be expensive. Aircon etc. still seems to work OK, but it's hard to tell what it's set to. - Steve

POST 3Original post

Carefully prize off the fascia, undo the 2 retaining screws and slide the unit out frontwards and check that the 4 connectors are firmly pushed in at the rear. May work, if not then likely to be a problem with one of the 2 circuit boards. TB
