Suggestion

Or if left for more than 5 days, before unlocking with the fob, put the key in the door lock, turn it as though you are locking it (it wont lock as its already locked) this "wakes" the car and then use the fob as normal, saves rushing to get the key in, if like me you are only opening it to clean it, even though you havem't used it since you last cleaned it, sad i know

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Leave the car for a certain number of days and it goes into hibernation, the remote unlocking no longer working. On Saturday I used the key in the lock and the alarm went off. Was I doing something wrong or is this normal? :?:

POST 2Original post

Normal. If you unlock the door with the key, you have to switch the ignition on within 10 seconds of unlocking, to prevent the alarm going off.

POST 4Original post

Or if left for more than 5 days, before unlocking with the fob, put the key in the door lock, turn it as though you are locking it (it wont lock as its already locked) this "wakes" the car and then use the fob as normal, saves rushing to get the key in, if like me you are only opening it to clean it, even though you havem't used it since you last cleaned it, sad i know
