Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

In other words it is 'recommended' but not required to join PCA to list in the registry.

I would recommend joining PCA at least on a national basis, up to you what you do on a local basis, each chapter varies.

I posted a thread on that many months ago, you might use the Search feature to see if you can locate it, off the top of my head that code means it had CoMPleted PRoDuction CMPPRD.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yesterday, 12/6, I received an email from my dealer with my new Vin #./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/dance.gif/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thanks.gif
It also included a status code: CMPPRD
I know that this has been covered before, but can someone offer a list of progressive order status codes and their meanings, or at least the meaning of the one above? Also, could anyone provide the purpose and benefits of adding information to the Registry once we know our Vin #?
Thanks in advance.

Answered a part of my questions by using the search option. Still would need some help with the part about the Registry.
I posted a thread on that many months ago, you might use the Search feature to see if you can locate it, off the top of my head that code means it had CoMPleted PRoDuction CMPPRD. Which is why you have a VIN# etc. Don't forget to register your car in the Registry and join PCA if you are so inclined!
Russ,
It would be interesting if we knew, on average, how long it takes to move from one code to the next, but I guess there are probably many variables, including the fact that a vessel does not leave every day, and so whether you just missed one or just made one would make a difference.
K-Man S,
I am planning to join the PCA, and probably post my vehicle on the Registry, but I could not put my finger on what the Registry is all about. Like what are the benefits of posting to it, and who has access to it and for what reasons?
Thanks
kmns,
Yes I believe that the vessels leave every 2 weeks and missing one puts us at least 2 weeks further out. Keep us posted as your codes change and I will do the same.
Russ
kmns,
Here is a quote from the PCA national site about registers:
Register Groups
The PCA Register Program is a new opportunity for members interested in networking with owners of specific Porsche models.
The PCA Register program was established in 1995 to encourage closer relationships within register groups in PCA. The program allows PCA members to network with others in their specific area of interest. Sharing of information fosters restoration and maintenance of member's automobiles. A register can potentially provide a new resource for historical displays at Parades and other PCA events, along with information for articles in PANORAMA.
Since this is a new register and in conjunction with this portal we can help define, as members, where it goes moving forward. Please feel free to PM me your thoughts!
K-Man,
So the registry works hand in hand with the PCA membership. I was wondering if I should be joining my local PCA chapter or the National or both? Any thoughts?
Thanks Russ
You do NOT have to join PCA to list yourself in the registry, although since some registry events will be sponsored by PCA you may need to be in PCA to attend those events (to be determined). In other words it is 'recommended' but not required to join PCA to list in the registry. I would recommend joining PCA at least on a national basis, up to you what you do on a local basis, each chapter varies.
As for listing 'Registered Cayman Owner' I can only list one item under someone's name, so for example some people have donated to the site and listed their car. I'll look into programmatically adding something as I still have some more work to do with the registry for contacting members, etc.
Joining PCA national gets you a very nice monthly magazine, the Panorama. Lots of good stuff on Porsche, parts, etc. Also gets 10% off parts at your dealer. That's only $42/yr. Then you can visit your local PCA club to see if they are the kind of folks you want to hang with.
Having been a member and past president of a local PCA club (another state and time) I can attest to the fun of sharing your Porsche hobby with others of a like mind.
Thanks All,
It seem like there are some great benefits to joining the PCA. Discounts alone would make it worth while, but sharing with others is a must.
Russ
Exchanged email with my dealer today that may provide some further insight to those of us with questions about car status codes. See copy below:
<div>Scott,</div>
<div></div>
<div>Thanks for the info. Below is a list of the order status codes. Is there any way that this can be monitored short of having to call the dealership? Someone had mentioned that at some point this information may be available on-line.</div>
<div></div>
<div>I AM NOT AWARE OF AN ONLINE SOURCE BESIDES MY INTERNAL EDCS SYSTEM THAT WILL PROVIDE STATUS UPDATES. WE ARE WAITING FOR THE NEXT STATUS: IMPINV - THIS INDICATES AG HAS BEEN PAID BY PCNA AND THE CAR IS USUALLY 'ONVESL' THE NEXT DAY.</div>

I also just completed an on-line application for membership to PCA. They provided a confirmation email that indicates it will take 2 to 3 weeks to process. Once you have your VIN # it may be wise to proceed with the application in order to be on board by the time your car arrives.
kmns,
I also just completed my payment for 2 years and application for PCA. I will wait for an email confirmation. I noticed in their listings there was nothing shown for a Hawaii regional club.
Russ
Sure hope that I get a VIN soon, as I understand the car is completed but not on the boat yet. I think I will have to get on my salesman for a more timely update on this information!!!!!! Congrats to those of you who are able to get such good tracking on the car.
Santa Fe,
I placed my order on 8/22. This was right at the beginning of when orders began to be processed. One would think that if date of order meant a lot, my car should have been one of many that I understand are already at some ports in the US.
At least 8/22 is when I placed my order with the dealer. I don't have any reason to doubt that he processed the order in a prompt fassion. It seems that some cars that were ordered as late as two months after mine were built about the same time as mine was. I guess there must be a lot of factors that affect when the car is built other than a first in first out basis.
kmns,
Is it possible that your dealer's earliest allocations (for November/December build dates) were taken by customers who had placed deposits earlier ?
Not likely Rick, I was near the top of the list on deposits at a dealership that has the largest allocation in the USA. I just think it has something to do with Porsche. No harm no foul, as long as it arrives in time for the release date.
FYI I checked on my car today and the code in the computer is PRDPNT - Manufacturing - into Paint Shop, I hadn't seen that code before, but sounds like they have whipped up a batch of paint and are painting away as I type. Cool...
K-man-S , not to get off topic but our production dates are pretty close together (my salesman is doing dealer training so I cannot check my current code) but I hope they don't get any of your yellow on my nice artic silver.../fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/teeth_smile.gif
