Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I got enough change from £30,000 to cover the next couple of services and a set of tyres and, apart from voluntarily paying for a geo, all I've had to spend on it so far is whatever the V-Power cost and a couple of litres of oil...

So I think you would have to worry about running out of island before me, and with a population density almost 17 times that of ours, all I need to worry about is running over the odd stray sheep :floor:

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Okay i'm quite prepared to take some stick for this... but here's my proposition... taking into account fun factor, wow factor, driveablity, handling, reliability (and my recent repair hasn't phased me), exclusivity, desirability and it's unbelievable performance... it is my honest opinion that dollar for dollar a good used 996 Turbo is currently one of the best cars available in the marketplace today... or I can sum it up like this... after having the car now for the past 5 months I am at a loss to think of any other car I'd want more for the same money...
As I said I'm quite prepared to take some stick for this
Kiwi
Its a good point and performance is great at a reasonable price but what about 993 ? Also what about an early 997s ? According to some reports and videos we have seen the 997s is overall faster than the 996TT due to handling etc...
Theo
Fair comment, here's my take... I owned a 993 for 5 years prior to the Turbo. It was a great car and it put a smile on my face every time I drove it so I was very hesitant to get rid of it... but the smile is bigger and the grin lasts longer with the Turbo. As for the 997, here in New Zealand even the cheapest 997 is still noticably more expensive than a 996 Turbo, so as a long term proposition to me it's a no brainer...
It's all that sun, lamb and having too many seasons in one day that's effecting you!!
You must often find yourself running out of island with a car like that? 8)
Have to agree with the OP, even in the UK, pound for pound, it's a very hard package to beat, turbos, 4wd, psm, 190mph, 4 seats, that badge and a whole load of luxury items all for around £30k or thereabouts.

Just done 10,000 miles in mine since I bought it in October

Ooops... Almost forgot the cost of 'detailing'...
Think that's about £15:00 so far - from 3 visits to Tesco's jetwash...
According to a website I just googled, New Zealand is the 74th largest country in the world (landmass size) with just under 270,000 sq/km and a population density of just over 15 people per sq km. Where as Great Britian and Northern Island is 78th with just under 245,000 sq km and a population denisty of almost 250 people per sq km. So I think you would have to worry about running out of island before me, and with a population density almost 17 times that of ours, all I need to worry about is running over the odd stray sheep :floor:
I was reading through your posting and I was going to ask "What detailing" when I saw the last paragraph. 3 washes means once every 2 months... I cannot believe it... You said you only wash cars twice a year so that is an improvement which means you like the TT a lot
and that makes your point even more valid :floor:

Sorry mate, I just meant that you've got a bit further to go before you get to drive on some 'fresh' roads (about 2000km...?) and we've got about 38 miles before we hit the rest of Europe - which, I'm sure you'd have to agree, is big.
Someone I know (form Wales) is currently working on a sheep farm in NZ. He's rounding them up with quad bikes and bloody helicopters! We've got the quad bikes here but that's about all we need in the hills! He says that it's the most beautiful place that he's ever been to. I hear that you have penguins down there!
Bug*er... I thought you might play the rest of Europe card... yes you just trumped my Ace...
Still at least we can fly to Aussie for as little as 70 pounds which makes a weekend get away easy... and NO New Zealand is not the 7th State of Australia...
Yes indeed we have penguins... but we also have sheep, sea lions, sheep, kiwi's, sheep, no snakes... but a couple of poisonous spiders, sheep, and we used to have a really big flightless bird called the Moa (kind of like a large overgrown furry chicken on stilts)...

You forgot about Neil Finn!! That's a NZ sin!! 8)
