The memory module seeds to work apart from having this reset issue which is quite annoying really.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem with electric seats that remember the custom settings but upon unlocking the car the seats return to default position? The memory module seeds to work apart from having this reset issue which is quite annoying really. Passenger side not affected. Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

Hi, I take it you've pressed the 'M' button and the key button together after setting your position and turning the ignition on? Seats will return to the remembered position when the car is unlocked with a particular key. Alternatively, you are using 'your' key? I have two, occasionally pick up the wife's key and find myself trying to squeeze a 6' frame into a 5'2" space...

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Memory seats Hi Noodle, thanks for the reply... All the custom settings stored always work and remember their positions, including the key setting. All it does it when you unlock the car the seat moves automatically to, I'm guessing, a default position (which inconveniently happens to be right on the floor) then I have to press my setting to return it to normal.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Problem sorted! Finally sorted the problem. One of my keys works fine to store the positions when opening and the other doesn't. Although it does remember the actual position when you press the key button manually... Maybe needs a new battery. Thanks for the reply!
