Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Been looking at Pirelli Corsa Rs and Toyo 888s. Anyone got experience of both they can share and any suggestions on who has the best pricing? End of May at the ring is going to be my last track venture in the Targa so got to make the most of it! Thanks J

POST 2Original post

R888's :worship: Not tried the Corsa's, but heard good things about them ! The R888's are great but you need to be checking the pressure's after each lap (of the 'Ring) I find 26(f) and 30(r) (cold) work very well. :thumb: A full set of R888's can be had for around £750-820, just be aware when you have them fitted and take your first drive the noise  (but you soon get used to it) :thumb:

POST 3Original post

I've replaced 3 sets of tyres in the last couple of months, not sure they sell the Toyos but this is the cheapest place I have found. Total Tyre & Exhaust Co Terrace Rd South Bracknell Berkshire RG42 4DJ 01344 860150

POST 4Original post

R888's would be my choice for all round ability, although prices have risen they still provide a longer life and ability in the rain when asked spent 4 years on r888's on my gt3 as my main tyre that worked well, although it was about upto 6 secs a lap of the Nurburging slower than Michelin pilots which were by far the quicker tyre in the dry, so if you really want that final experience then get the Pilots last venture :?:

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the feedback gents, much appreciated, where's the best place to get them? Can't take this car any further, no worthwhile mods left...except the tyres I'm doing BTG in about 8.15 after last weekend which is pretty much as good as it gets in a Targa, albeit with GT3 and KW3 suspension setup. Looking for a cheaper track day car for the future, one without a glass roof and which can have a roll cage fitted! Any ideas :?:

POST 6Original post

Tyres will make a huge difference, even Harry at Autowerks can get hold of R888's that's a respectable BTG time for a TD event, look forward to my TF lap in May :thumb:

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll give them a bell, just down the road. Thanks Of course master uh:

POST 8Original post

Respectable! Its off the f***ing scale. Good work.

POST 9Original post

I've run 888's & Corsa R's and without doubt it's Corsa R's all the way for me now. More expensive to purchase initially but a far more economical proposition in the long run. Probably not quite as ultimately grippy as the 888 but very heat stable (I didn't see temps over 60 on Monday) and without that terrible drone that 888's give off. Quite useable in the wet too as long as you don't hit deep standing water at 120+ I've got a part worn set of fronts & brand new rear 888's if you want to make me an offer :thumb:

POST 11Original post

First I've heard 888's more grippy than Corsa R's?
