Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I just bought a 2009 cayman 2.9 manual, and the release bearing is a bit noisy. I was planning out the clutch replaceMent and ran into a problem finding a replacement flywheel. Most places only list the OEM for the 2.9 but some places show that the DMF155 (replacement for cayman s 3.4) works on the 2.9. Anyone know if this is true ? 2009 PORSCHE CAYMAN 2.9L H6 Flywheel | Shop Now at RockAuto Transmission-Manual Parts and More for Your 2009 PORSCHE CAYMAN at Reliably Low Prices. Fast Online Catalog. For reference, my copy of the PET shows different part numbers: 9G2.114.012.00 for the 2.9L 9G2.114.012.20 for the 3.4 L

You may not need to replace your dual mass flywheel. Unless your's is scored from the disk wearing out. I changed mine with 45k without any scaring on the flywheel face, so all that was needed was a Sachs clutch kit . Can be sourced from Pelican Parts for around $500.00 including the bearing.
