Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hello! I've spent about an hour looking through all of the parts diagrams for my 05 Boxster S, but I still can't figure this out. Does anyone know the part number for the large push in fastener used to secure the felt material in the hood stowage compartment? I am missing two out of four and unfortunately the only markings on it are "RAY" and "4". Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm attaching a rather poor photo that will hopefully give you some idea what I'm referring to. Thanks in advance, Steve Hall 2005 Boxster S

POST 2Original post

Check out your local auto parts store. Most stock a large assortment of push connectors such as yours. Just match up the shaft diameter and length.

Is it part number 18 here? Interior Trim - Front Structure for 2006 Porsche Boxster | Sunset Porsche Parts

POST 5Original post

Unfortunately no. I was missing one of those as well and bought a couple (which fit perfectly). This one is for what I can best describe as a felt-like material that lines the back side of the top stowage compartment--the same wall that contains the clips to which you attach the metal channel for the cloth apron. The parts diagrams are pretty sketchy on the details for this; perhaps it's either #14 or 14 from the diagram below? Body Sound Proofing 1

POST 6Original post

Ahh, I went out and looked at my car and it is missing two out of four fasteners as well (the two upper and outer holes). Maybe this is just the way it comes?

POST 7Original post

Interesting! Yep, I just went out and double-checked; those are the same two I'm missing. I had just assumed that they were supposed to be there since it certainly looked like they should. Sounds like the mystery is solved. Thank you!
