Suggestion
I test drove a 981S and the only two things I liked about it over the 987 was the buttery smooth, very easy to use gear box and the fully electric soft top so you could use your key remote to fully open/close it.

Still a bit sticky when cold but after a minor adjustment feels normal albeit it a bit firmer than what I’ve driven previously. Happy 😊

Maybe it's just the earlier Boxsters. My 987S gear box is a bit tricky when it's cold, but loosens up when it's warm. It is quite heavy too. Maybe just the age of the things? I test drove a 981S and the only two things I liked about it over the 987 was the buttery smooth, very easy to use gear box and the fully electric soft top so you could use your key remote to fully open/close it. Everything else was a downgrade in my opinion, especially the styling. Not sure why they are so revered. I didn't get the hype. Good thing we all like different things.
