Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

When we bought our second hand (very low miles) 718 it had nearly $30,000 of options but this makes almost no difference to the second hand market price, so there can be bargain out there.....

Hi All Just wondering if anyone has a copy (physical or pdf) of the original options and pricing list for the 981 Boxster? Really just curious to see the full options list and associated prices to inform my searches. Redbook used to have them all listed but no longer does. Thank you!

POST 2Original post

Have you had a look at stuttcars.com? It's been a while for me and I'm not sure if the website contains upto 981 (options only though), but it was pretty comprehensive the last time I looked

POST 3Original post

The Options Price List booklet comes up for sale on eBay albeit typically packaged with the hard cover brochure - it runs to circa 30 pages.

Yes, bizarre.  I used that list in the past when I was buying but indeed the details are all gone now 😞

They seem to have the launch brochure which details some, but not all options. Its also not Aus specific sadly Ooo that looks pretty close to what I want. Is this a separate brochure to the sales brochure? Do you have a photo of the cover for reference? Yeah no idea why Redbook has got rid of them. It was very useful and interesting

My experience with looking at second hand Boxsters is that here in Australia, most are specced very lightly. The 981's and 982's are a little better specced up, but the 986's and 987's are very barren little cars. If there are highly specced ones, they must be held tight by owners or rarely come up for sale.

Yeah that's certianly my experience too. Especially a base model manual - they might have a paint, or wheels, or electric seats. That's about all and rarely more than one haha

POST 8Original post

Options brochure cover FYI. Digging into the options brochure always made for interesting reading, particularly the detail in footnotes that disclosed in order to add option a) required you to order options b) & c). Or if you ordered a Sport Design steering wheel with PDK, it was more expensive than a manual transmission with the Sport Design steering wheel because you were also getting the paddles. Dealers typically ordered 981 models for inventory limited to 5-6 options and in popular colours (red, black, silver, grey etc.) unless the car was earmarked for showroom display where they would add some spicy options (PSE, PASM, 20” wheels, sports chrono etc) with the risk being they pushed the price uncomfortably close to a base 911. It was unusual to see a very highly optioned 981 on the showroom floor unless it was a cancelled customer.

POST 9Original post

My 2015 had PDK, 20’s, parking sensors, partial leather, painted roll bars and 14 ways from the factory. A couple of months later the original owner spent $7k (!) on a Sport Design wheel and PSE… Plus PPF over the majority of the car although it was white. Not complaining though.

Now that is what I'm after! Any chance there is a part number on the spine of that brochure?

POST 12Original post

Sorry but no part no listed - it is for the Australian market and shows status as 05/13
