Suspected cause
Probably the best price/performance ratio cars currently out there.
Leading evidence: 'best price/performance ratio cars currently out there' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best price/performance ratio cars currently out there' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The GTS steers better and rides a bit better...and is probably a bit more of an event to drive.

Suggestion
I complained to Porsche who eventually agreed to replace the fuel rail and high pressure fuel pump which made it quieter but it's still there.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, its been a while since i was last here (costly house renovation, again!) , so hello everyone .
Can you share any stories or experiences you have had with the above?
I am considering a couple of very low klm Boxsters MY & build 2022, both come with Porsche warranty.
My nearest Porsche Centre is 5 hours drive away!
Thanks in advance
I bought a new Boxster GTS 4.0 (PDK) in 2021. It's been my wife's daily and has now done 47,000 kms. Over the last 5 years, other cars have come and gone from the garage (Emira, M4, M2, etc) but the GTS has stayed put. It is such damn good overall package.
On the plus side...
It's fast but not stupidly fast. The power is actually usable/enjoyable without necessarily going to jail.
The engine is quite torquey so easy to mooch around in.
It rides exceptionally well. Indeed, it has the best ride of the 8+ cars I have owned over the last 5 years.
I'd been very reliable. No major problems....except for one of my own making which I will come to.
It's amazingly practical.
And I think it looks terrific
One the negative side......
It is, IMHO, not an especially tuneful engine. It's a bit gruff. Most others like it. I am not especially fond of it.
And I really dislike the infamous "crickets" noise from the engine....which once you have heard it...you can never unhear it. The noise is made by the piezo injectors coupled with the high pressure fuel pump. It's a constant ticketty, tick, tick that never goes away. For some reason, it's much louder in some cars than others. My car was definitely on the louder end of the spectrum. I complained to Porsche who eventually agreed to replace the fuel rail and high pressure fuel pump which made it quieter but it's still there.
And just to be clear, the crickets noise in no way affects the performance of the car. It's simply a sound issue. Indeed, some people never notice it. Example, my wife cannot hear it. And a friend of mine with the same car when asked "Doesn't that sound drive you crazy?" He replied "what sound?"
Now I may have banged on a bit about the crickets noise but, outside of this, the car really is bloody excellent.
Thanks WGA
I recall you getting your 4.0 and how that cricket noise annoyed the hell out of you. Good that its been reliable but I suppose it should be really.
What was the reason you went PDK and not manual?
Did you swop out the Pirelli tyres for Michelin and if so what do you prefer?
That is a nice spec you have there.
It's fair to say that I am not a manual romantic. I have opted for PDK for all my recent Porsches including my 992.1 GT3 Touring. My last manual was a 991.2 GT3 Touring and before that a 997.2 GT3 RS....which with both I had a love/hate relationship largely because of their manual gearboxes.
So in recent years I have preferred PDK to manual because I am basically an engine guy, first and foremost, and (IMHO) you can only really extract the best out of Porsche engines via a PDK box whether its on road or on track. And specifically regarding the Boxster GTS, the manual gearing is way too long whereas the PDK gears are shorter.
Oh...and not a trivial point....my wife did not want a manual....
Car came with Michelins and I stayed with them.
I tend to agree with your points, the car I am in discussions on happens to be a manual which will I like (not a conscious prefference) and will be ideal for the driving I will be doing. I have seen that manuals are a bit too tall.
Thanks for your fee back
Sure. I have had two.
I had a red G87 M2 LCI last year for 3 months before selling it after I got an allocation for a M2 CS which I have now had for 6 months.. Both are very good cars. Probably the best price/performance ratio cars currently out there.
Both are very quick cars...muuuch quicker than a GTS 4.0 but then again...you would expect that with such a HP advantage. They also have a higher utility factor with more space and the ability to genuinely seat 4 people.
The GTS steers better and rides a bit better...and is probably a bit more of an event to drive.
Currently, the M2 CS is my go to daily driver.
