Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I'm probably going to feel stupid once someone answers, but cannot figure out what this part is/does. For reference, that's the driver's side rear axle looking toward front of car. Just curious. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

I'd guess that it's a level sensor for either the headlights or the PSM. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

POST 3Original post

I was thinking maybe PSM sensor as well. Headlights a good guess too. I've worked on this car a lot over the past 11 years I've had it and just noticed it this summer when I put the transaxle back on.

POST 6Original post

Thanks for the definitive answer. Glad to see others didn't know for sure either and my question wasn't stupid.

POST 7Original post

Oh lol, this is a part which I know too well for the last 2 weeks. Apparently, if you put the engine out and not connect this module back - your headlights can't level properly and you have a nice dash code.

POST 8Original post

Not a dumb question at all. But when you have one go bad, you soon learn that it is an axle level sensor. Essential for operation of the sport mode and other functions.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
