Hello chris roby, You don't have to replace your battery, just recondition it (see http://www.batterylifesaver.com/revive/revive.htm ). Also see post #15 on this thread http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-boxster-electronics/18973-has-your-oem-battery-ever-died.html . I have them on six of my family's vehicles and they are something short of amazing (Other than being a satisfied customer, I have no affiliation with this manufacturer). Regards, Joe

Just replaced dead OE battery in my 2005 Boxster S with Auto Zone, Duralast 94R-DLG... perfect fit. cost was $144USD plus sales tax. It is rated at more than 2x the OE battery CCA and has a 3 year 100% replacement (non-prorata) warranty. My local dealer had told me that the Audi version of the Porsche part was identical and would cost about $110USD (vs. $235 for the Porsche.) I was actually going to go that route until I discovered this discussion forum. I saw a reference or two for the Duralast and decided to check it out more closely. I chose the Duralast for the warranty and capacity.
