Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I believe that Tech 9 in Liverpool fitted Tech Art kit.

Early 996's have the bolt heads exposed - this was changed to a skirted panel, protecting the bolt heads.

Note that during the 2000 model year, the bottom panel of the motor was changed.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Related to question on Spacers. Sorry for being neurotic.
My 996 C4 lowered 30mm. Looks fab and feels great.

Is he right? Do I need sump guard?
Told you I was neurotic....
I would get one, it's pretty cheap insurance IMO. My car has ROW 030 , not as low as yours, and I have quite a few little scrape marks on the "sump guard" AKA engine protection plate in the States.
Porsche makes the protection plate, it's a simple piece of stamped steel, not heavy at all.I don't have the part number. It will provide some protection, which is better than nothing, but you still have to be careful. Not very expensive, three years ago I think it cost something like US$100 with install. If your dealer doesn't have it try www.carnewal.com

What did you do to lower your car? I am looking at doing the same for my C4 cab.
Note that during the 2000 model year, the bottom panel of the motor was changed. Early 996's have the bolt heads exposed - this was changed to a skirted panel, protecting the bolt heads. If you lower a 99 or early 2000, make sure that you change to the skirted panel - a simple switch.

The previous owner had done this. I believe that Tech 9 in Liverpool fitted Tech Art kit.
Looks great - ride is fine.
Handling is superb - but don't have benchmark to say what is down to lowered suspension.
I have the sump cover, which I believe is aluminum and around $100. The installation is about as much work as a shift ****--you shouldn't have to pay if you are there for any other work. Despite RoW M030, no significant marks on it.
Attachments are available to protect the left and right coolant hoses, but the pair of those runs about $300, i.e. roughly the cost of new hoses and coolant.
Fits all of the cars through 2001, do not know about 3.6L.
