Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I also feel like a noticed a little bit better throttle response when changing gears.

I understand some people do this change without removing the wheels.

Are you running their headers also, or just the mufflers?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I installed my GHL mufflers last night and they sound great so far! They were polished and the weld quality was top notch. We carried them into the Nissan service dept. where my friend is a tech and all the other techs came over to look at the mufflers and commented how "tight" the craftsmanship was.
I only drove them up and down the street a bit and then on the highway home so not much to talk about yet.
I installed them at a Nissan dealer where my friend is a tech. So we had a lift and all tools at our disposal. We DID remove the rear wheels as it appeared it would be MUCH easier to do it that way. I understand some people do this change without removing the wheels.
I don't have a soundclip that I know MANY people are looking for. I don't have a videocam but I'll see if I can borrow one.
At idle the sound is a TAD louder than stock. As you let out the clutch it "gurgles" a bit. As you go through the rpm's it sounds throatier up to about the 2-3K range. After that it seems to flatten out a bit. As you get higher up say 5-6K that's when it gets a much more "exotic" sound. I didn't have much time as I said but these are my impressions so far. I also feel like a noticed a little bit better throttle response when changing gears.
It's very hard to convey things like exhaust note via words but I know there's a lot of deciding to do when considering a new exhaust so hope this helps. Feel free to ask me any questions
Yes I think that fits. I'll add that to my vocabulary...
Today I took a short drive to my friend's house and I revved it up pretty high in his driveway. It sounded real nice and even he was impressed considering he owns a F355 with Tubi exhaust.

to hear his full GHL exhaust (headers and mufflers). When we get the 996 I was planning on installing headers along w/ the FS Supercup system (like it loud and aggressive). The only other choice I was thinking about was the full GHL system as I've heard nothing but good about their products for cars and trucks. Hearing your car backed that up, really unique sound compared to the others.
Are you running their headers also, or just the mufflers? Any chance you could use the digi cam inside at full throttle and post the sound clip, I'd love to hear it scream at full throttle? Thank You
Saleen-Explorer,
PCA Goldcoast region is having its monthly social this Saturday, 5/17 from 12-4 at Foreign Affairs in Pompano. Why don't you meet me there and you can hear the ghl? They have an 03 C4S project car which also has the GHL exhaust and headers. Champion Porsche is bringing a Cayenne and there are a number of GT3-R's. Talk about loud!
Regards,
Mike

I have to work on one of our waverunners b/c a friend of my moms rode it up on the beach w/o shutting it off awhile ago, basically seized the whole engine. And I have a haircut appointment at about 2:45. So that sucks, I asked my mom if she wanted to go also. If you know of any other meetings/gatherings, let me know. Whats this for anyway, is it just a show for Porsche's, or will they have like an autocross setup?
Thanks,
Chris
Scott - thank you, I definitley want to hear that growl at full throttle, just hearing how good the GHL mufflers sound on yours, I could imagine what a full header equiped system sounds like

I was wondering how it went scince I didn't have time to go down there around that time.
How was it Mike?
Hey guys...to be honest this thread is about GHL exhaust.
It really helps people find things while searching if the threads are kept accurate and concise....
