Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can someone please help me verify that 997-101-212-01 is the most updated RMS for a 99 996 C4? I got the part number from Pelican parts, and the seal is made by Victor Reinz?

POST 2Original post

No idea. But I can tell you this.. and I was a lucky one. I ordered a seal from a site like you are ordering from. It got delayed by a snow storm for days.. So i drove to the dealer and picked one up and installed it. When I got the one I ordered from the after market distributor it was the old style.. Just go to a dealer and pick one up. The original one has round dimples around it while the new one had rectangle dimples around it. Lucky for the snow storm or I would habe put the ol style POS in the car!

POST 3Original post

You are correct that's the number for mine from Sunset Porsche. $11.34. If you're in there update the clutch release lever too.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
