Hi,
I wonder if there is any AIM Smartycam user here on the forum? Recently bought one and would like to hear some suggestion on the mounting points in the Cayman to get the best angle and want to know a bit more on how the ECU bridge works. Will appreciate if anyone could upload some video clips taken by the smarty cam.
Cheers,

I'm using an EVO4 with a direct ECU connection (not OBD-II.)
Mounted on roll bar with IO Port heavy duty camera mount. The lens is wide angle so it is not hard to get a full front view of the track. I have not used the ECU bridge. I currently over lay speed, gs, lap time, track map, date and time. I have used it at 3 track days and really like it.
Thanks Mdavis and Finn987..
Has anyone connected into the fuse area by left rear tail light with piggyback fuse so smartycamhd and aim solo DL are running off car and not battery,
I connect to the fuse box in drivers footwell, using the fuse for rear wiper (row 3 F6).

Totally off topic. I am researching the Smartycam as I just purchased the AIM MXL Pista for my Cayman DE car. FINN987 I watched your video and heard the same knock during hard cornering that I have in my Cayman. Any idea what that noise might be? I have tightened every suspension bolt to spec that I can find.
I've been running AiM Solo for 3 years and power off the outlet in the passenger footwell. The Aim DL can be powered by the OBDII connection and I assume also powered by a CAN connection. The sounds I hear in the video are wind noise and rumbling from hitting the gators on the curbs.
Bilt Racing (formerly Napleton Motorsports) installed MXL Pista with CAN bus to ECU and direct connection with SmartyCam. It is very impressive with a custom harness including steering angle and brake pressure potentiometer. Maybe a little overkill for a DE car. We recycled my old RAM Mount that is attached to the rollbar. I have not had any track sessions yet but my street testing video results are superior to the old GoPro. The datalogging and RaceStudio2 software is great fun.
