Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

After working just fine for the first eight months of ownership, and for the 6 hour drive home from Croctoberfest, I came out to the car on Monday morning to find the radio dead. As in toast. Will not turn on... Now, I had been playing a burned CD in the unit on the drive home, but had switched to the iPod (I had the Porsche iPod connection installed several months ago) and everything seemed fine. I understand burned CD's can cause a malfunction in the headunit, but this one is dead not just frozen. So...I'm off to the dealer tomorrow to see what the issue turns out to be. Any thoughts from anyone? I'm guessing it's a new symptom of the issue with burned CD's, or perhaps a loose connection from the iPod installation - which was performed by the dealer.

POST 3Original post

I left this point out of my original post - I have checked the fuses. I'll admit, however, I may have missed the correct fuse as it was not overly clear to me from the provided chart which one is for the radio. However, of all the fuses I did check, none were blown. Is there a fuse in-line with the headunit and not in the panel? Thanks!

POST 5Original post

Interesting. That's easy and worth a shot - thanks! It also somewhat confirms the fuse number for me. My best guess was D9 (as in the post), though I tried a number of others as well. I'll report back later today... And the answer is: The "Microsoft re-boot" solution worked! Thank you very much for pointing that out to me. I had seen that thread, but sadly didn't read all the way to the end of it. I'll cancel my dealer appointment for now, but if it continues to happen maybe I'll get it looked over.
