I think the seat heater is the same connector used for the power tilt of the seatback.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I'm curious if anyone who has removed their heated seats noted where the wiring harness connector was located. I'm trying to figure out whether or not my non-heated seats have the heater elements present. I assume there would be an unused connector there. . .

POST 2Original post

Under the seat right there with the airbag connector. I think the seat heater is the same connector used for the power tilt of the seatback. I only remember two connectors....... Don't know if you can tell if the seat heater is present or not by looking at it though. Take a peek in the articles section - there may be pics there.

POST 3Original post

Here is a picture of the connector on the underside of my heated seat: See Seat Removal . There is only 1 connector on the driver's side. On the passenger side I believe there is an additional connector for the "seat occupied" sensor.

POST 4Original post

Okay, I thought the yellow connector was strictly for the airbag - are you saying it has wiring connections for the seat heaters also? What is that small white connector near the top of your picture for ( or is that the passenger seat sensor) ?

POST 5Original post

I'm positive that I had to undo two connections. Maybe the seats in the article or Fort's seats have a slightly different config than mine?? ie mine are sports/heated. I'll stick my head under the seat latter today and report back.

POST 6Original post

My understanding is that the wiring harness is specific for each car's needs and thus the heater elements would not be present in a vehicle which didn't come with them. If you find that different let us know.
