Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Could not believe how awkward it was to change the air filter, and it was very evident that the filter was not changed on its last service due to the corroded and seized nut on the bottom of the housing, which explains why it looked so dirty with so few miles having been covered since the previous service.

On the other hand if the cost of changing the intake is a blown MAF the whole point of changing the intake disappears.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
Have been looking for a new air intake to my 996TT, but which of the following is the best/should I choose:
EVO -V-Flow
Designtek - Air Induction Kit (Cold Air System)
Agency Power Intake Kit
Fabspeed w. BMC Air Filter or KN Filter
Currently the car is fitted with a GT2 wing/rear
Any recommendation/suggestion?
I have recently spoken to Fearnsport regarding this very thing, and they said that they would not fit anything other than a Pipercross panel filter, and cut a hole in the back of the filter mount.
They feel that anything else causes problems, i.e oiled up sensors and incorrect air/fuel mix, and have even removed expensive units because they have found them to cause problems.
Hope that saves you a few quid!
I used to run a BMC.... great induction roar and after it killed a MAF from oil and another MAF was fitted I loved it even more !! Then replaced it with a stock paper filter tho & missed the noise, so ended up going to a PiperX foam panel filter.... not as nice roar as the BMC, but at least it doesnt ***** any more MAF's !!
My TT came with and Evoms V-Flow... I've got no complaints so far... it certainly creates a nice sound, which I'm assuming is as a result of the filter...
I personally like the design and look of the Agency Power Intake. On the other hand if the cost of changing the intake is a blown MAF the whole point of changing the intake disappears. :?:
My reason for changing the intake is based on the rule – more air equals more power – especially if the ultimate goal is to upgrade to two K24 turbo'.
Yep, just bought one and was quite surprised how much oil was on it.
Gave it a good damping with paper towels before fitting. Could not believe how awkward it was to change the air filter, and it was very evident that the filter was not changed on its last service due to the corroded and seized nut on the bottom of the housing, which explains why it looked so dirty with so few miles having been covered since the previous service. :x
