Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

My question for the group is that when I installed the GW500 initially without any firmware upgrades and DIP switches set (#2 and #3 "on" for Porsche PCM w/ CDC), it worked fine with Text on the PCM display and all.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi all. I'm new to the Cayman Club and I have an '07 Cayman S w/ PCM Nav, Bose, and CDC. Soon after purchasing my car I picked up a Dension GW500 MOST privately and having compared it with the most recent manuals on the Dension site, I figured that I have an older version with only 4 DIP switches rather than 6 which is further supported by the installation guide that says V1.0X/2 in the top corner. My question for the group is that when I installed the GW500 initially without any firmware upgrades and DIP switches set (#2 and #3 "on" for Porsche PCM w/ CDC), it worked fine with Text on the PCM display and all. I have recently added a Dension BTA1500 unit and had to upgrade the firmware in order to enable the bluetooth unit but now I have lost the text capability and having tried all the tricks mentioned in other posts (switch back and forth 3 times, +paging, iPod GW, etc.) I can't seem to get the text capability back. Any suggestions?

POST 2Original post

Nevermind. I had to go back and forth with firmware 1.05 and 2.11 a few times but all finally works well.
