Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

I answered that question awhile back, according to Porsche it is "technically" possible to retrofit, and they've done it on some test car(s), but Porsche is NOT making any kits to do so and is NOT providing instructions to dealerships on how to do so.

Suggestion

Can it be fitted in place of the existing 2.1 and have everything work, including using the built in microphones on the telephone module feature that are located above the steering wheel.

PCM 3.0 vs. 2.1

Use interface, pcm 2.1 navigation interface is really poorly designed

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

What are some of the key features on PCM 3.0 that weren't on the "old" 2.1? Is it just me who don't fancy the futuristic look of PCM 3.0? I mean it looks a bit too futuristic compared to the whole dashboard which looks quite outdated right now. What do you think?

POST 2Original post

seems like the solution is to futurify everything else around it!

POST 4Original post

PCM3.0 is supposed to feature real iPod/music player integration I believe. On top of that , it's a hard drive based navigation system instead of dvd based. It's also a touch screen with an easier to use interface, PCM 2.1 navigation interface is really poorly designed. The screen is also bigger and the unit is less clustered with small buttons.

POST 5Original post

. Anyone know how-well touch screens hold up over the long run? .

POST 6Original post

Are you guys sure that it is even retrofit-able?

POST 7Original post

That is what I am interested in too. Can it be fitted in place of the existing 2.1 and have everything work, including using the built in microphones on the telephone module feature that are located above the steering wheel.

POST 8Original post

I answered that question awhile back, according to Porsche it is "technically" possible to retrofit, and they've done it on some test car(s), but Porsche is NOT making any kits to do so and is NOT providing instructions to dealerships on how to do so. In other words you'll have to rely on the aftermarket to figure it out and come up with something.
