Spec is always personal taste and I loved it, just get the car checked over by a main dealer and all should be well, worth spending the money on that to check over rev etc etc on the ECU.

I had the rear ceramic discs replaced under warranty as there was an issue and therefore at c10k miles they were brand new, the front then were absolutely fine.

Personally, I would have the car inspected & go from there, I couldn't give a to55 if they'd called it a Porch Turdbo if the car was perfect & what I want!!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Anyone have any experience of the dealer and any reason why this white Turbo S has been forsale for so long?
Just found a thread on 911uk. Doesn't seem to be anything untoward. Chap said he was viewing it but never replied to the thread with an update. So maybe he found something.

it's been mentioned before but nobody here has posted the reason as to why.

First thing that struck me was the Warrenty (sic).
I would not be buying a £75k car from a dealer who couldn't at least spell warranty correctly.
Surely, your not serious !?

yes absolutely... the dealer selling a £75k car can't spell warranty correctly (especially as this is their opening boast) shows they are a) not professional and b) have a distinct lack of attention to detail.
These two things would definitely concern me.

Oh I see, the more expensive the car, the more important the spelling!!

I agree. No one is perfect and the car being straight is more important than if the salesman passed GCSE English. I was more interested if someone had viewed it and been put off for some reason. Maybe the price combined with an unknown dealer has put people off.

..at least they spelt Carrara (white) correctly. Not many do.

they need to be shiny, they start to look more rough the more worn they are, those look well worn with no shine on them what so ever.
you should be able to rub your finger on them and it be clean when you look at your finger,

OP - I take it you will now refuse to deal with OPC's also....
I would definitely hand over £75k to an OPC for the right car as they have a decent repuation built up over many years and obviously they specifically deal with Porsche cars.
There is no way I would hand over £75k to a back street garage (this particular dealer is literally located on a back street) with no reputation at all for selling a £140k + Porsche (when new).
I must add I have no experience whatsoever of this particular garage, I have never been there, have never spoken with or met with any staff but the fact remains that if I was laying out £75k I would only go to a dealer with a repuation such as RSJ, Harbour JZM, OPC etc and certainly not one that boldly states Porsche Warrenty in the opening line of the description.
I can't be the only one who thinks like this otherwise the car would have sold already at that price (even if it is a dog- not everyone will have an inspection done).

That's fair enough, but that wasn't what you said above though.
You said you wouldn't deal with them on account of their spelling. Period.
It was only when I pointed out Porsche themselves aren't immune to the odd spelling error, it then became about reputation and a non-backstreet premises location.
Yes the advert wording is poor.
Is the car worth £75k with knackered PCCB's and no warrenty ?
Car probably worth £83k-85k via OPC with good discs and warrenty.
They probably want to shift the car now so a deal could be done.

Phew just been out and rubbed mine and my finger is clean !
First off the 997 Turbo S is a truly incredible car- in every sense of the word. When/if you drive one you will be amazed by the performance, it is truly savage in sports plus mode yet the car can be as usable and (relatively) docile as you want it to be in regular driving mode. It's the ultimate daily supercar.
Word of warning- the launch control is not for the faint hearted. 0-60 mph 2.9 seconds on dry road!!
The car in question- not particularly cheap at all. It's been for sale since April, so the miles will be closer to 30k than 26. Warranty was added to the listing early summer I believe? so not much left to run considering the car would not get much use during the winter. As has been stated- it's only transferable on a private sale, so unless it's SOR possibly not transferable. It does not have the two tone leather interior some S cars have- which is far nicer, I have looked at both and two tone is great.
Don't just look at purchase price when considering the value of a car. At this level of car, saving a few k purely on the purchase price rarely works out well in the medium term. If you can get a car with 3 x less miles and long warranty/Porsche assistance for close to this price, then it's clear which car will have the better residuals.
Regarding spec. THE options to have on Turbo S are aero kit, RS alloys, and clear tail lights. The first two are vital and personally I would not consider a car without them. They help massively in setting it apart from the standard gen 2 turbo- which is a good thing as otherwise it can be a bit too bland considering the power it offers. Other than that carbon pack and extended leather are nice to have, as are the bucket seats. Not the best to get in and out of, but brilliant once you are actually on the road.

I’m afraid that I have to offer a contrarian opinion on specification as:
Aero Kit
I think the car looks better without this (and /or colour coded lower sills) as the car, to me, looks a little tall and frumpy with the lowest portions of the body painted. Painted lower sills, in particular, lead (again, to my mind) to too many horizontal lines below the doors, which one doesn’t notice in the same way will the lower sills in black.
White rear lights
I’m afraid to say, I think these are starting to look a little dated now. There’s also quite a lot happening within them with the bottom portion being the reflector
2 tone interior
Yes, it’s brighter than the standard leather…but I’m not sure that means it’s better. In a perfect world, I would look for extended leather, contrast stitching and a carbon pack.
I agree with the RS alloys as, despite the joys one has when removing wheels, I do think these look better.
That said, this is just my opinion on specification. Porsche have moved things on quite a lot over the last couple of decades so one can make the cars very different from the options, before even looking at the individual options available.

hmmm, proof that this is subjective
I was looking at Turbo S before cutting my budget to opt for something (hopefully) more depreciation proof
I like the aerokit but certainly not a must have
I am 50/50 on the RS spyder centre locks - think they look fussy so would quite happy with std turbo wheels
Agree with you - the two tone leather interior is much nicer and was a must have for me
Other must haves (which most have anyway) was BT and universal audio
Nice to have for me are heated seats and extra leather bits, especially rear centre console, and rear park assist is useful

Whilst I agree on the alloys, the other two assertions are almost laughable, hugely subjective. Just make sure the aero kit blends with your gold chains/teeth. And as for the rear lights, kudos, very Halfords, if that's the look you're going for...

Well, i am with Chad on the aerokit and the wheels. I would have this car's wheels sprayed a different colour though. I think one PH member has his sprayed orange and they don't look too bad at all.
The Gen2 997 is the first 911 in quite a while which looks great in white. I get many, many compliments on my car from all ages, sexes. Yep they are ostentatious and not for the shrinking violet but if you want a fairly practical car with the looks of a race car, this is it.
I have only just noticed this link
This was my car, bought new and specced by me from Hatfield OPC.
I had it from 2010-2012 and sold it via RPM in Tring when I then bought a 458
I had the rear ceramic discs replaced under warranty as there was an issue and therefore at c10k miles they were brand new, the front then were absolutely fine. I can't vouch for who or what used them after. Porsche at Hatfield will have full details and can vouch for the work done.
The dealer painted the wheels full black from brand new and added the decals to the doors when I took delivery.
I looked after it very very carefully and for two years it had only one mark on it which was the underside of the front spoiler so you couldn't see this unless under the car.
Spec is always personal taste and I loved it, just get the car checked over by a main dealer and all should be well, worth spending the money on that to check over rev etc etc on the ECU.
PM me if anyone wants more

Good to have your input.
Interesting that
their
mods are OK in terms of warranty etc.
yellow dials would put a lot off, me included.
I really like the rest of the spec apart from black centre locks which I think a) are a naff design, and b) hate black wheels on white cars - but accept that is just a personal thing
