Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Got my standard x50 turbo checked and it was running 100db.

Suggestion

never tried this myself but seem to remeber reading the rev limiter cuts in at something like 4000 rpm at a standstill in neutral so testing anything above this as a predrive check is gonna be hard

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know what Db output does the PSE pump out a 3/4 revs (5200rpm)? Croft have started offering track days again, however, there is an 88 Db restriction at 3/4 revs! ... not holding out much hope here chaps - has anyone measured the Db output on their PSE (at previous track days)?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Even with the PSE off I would be surprised if the Db noise reading was less than 98Db... this is still some way off the 88Db restriction. Would be grateful for any comments on this though...

POST 4Original post

never tried this myself but seem to remeber reading the rev limiter cuts in at something like 4000 rpm at a standstill in neutral so testing anything above this as a predrive check is gonna be hard as i said never tried though cheers tim

POST 5Original post

search for the thread "rev limiter" and this came up and its 3500 revs it cuts in from richard h words have no idea what spec exhaust Wattie has

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good find! I hadn't thought about the limiter kicking in on Tiptronics (mine is) - do manual's do this too. Eitherway 98db is still too loud for Croft - pees me off as it's only 30 mins away.

POST 7Original post

Was down at croft on saturday with my m3 track car on the track with a db of 82. Got my standard x50 turbo checked and it was running 100db. So no track days at croft unless u manage to catch the 105 db days!

POST 8Original post

Don't know the figures for 4,000 but maximums are: standard/PSE off 99dB PSE on 108dB
