I've probably spent equal money in tax modifying my car as I have on the actual parts :wall:
All you Americans should make the most of deals like this
Just for reference it's worse than that.
If I were to list all the tax we pay over here I'd be here all day but the really 'damaging' ones are:
Income tax : I pay around 40% give or take - that's on any money I earn. So that's before I even get the money.
Value added tax : Flat rate of 20% tax on anything not considered essential. Things like fuel or sanitary pads are not considered essential. Tl;dr 99% of goods are VAT applicable.
Little ones like to stack up though, these include road tax, import duty, inheritance tax, national security yadda yadda yadda.
All up around 85-90% of my earnings go to the government one way or another.
It's a sad reality that while I'd like to buy things from people like you Craig it's just prohibitively expensive to the point I can't bring myself to do it... If I were to import 2000$ worth of brakes the tax man would charge me around 1000$.
All of you in America have no excuse though, buy buy buy!
