Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just had that show up in my display. My car is a 2002 C2. Question, is the generator known to be weak? Or is it more likely the battery? When reeving the engine the needle that show the charge status does not move at all... Annoying, wanted to go and have a drive in the nice weather with my son.. :x

POST 2Original post

The meter should read 12v (battery voltage) with the ignition switched on, and 13.8v (charging voltage) with the engine running. Alternators and batteries (especially on cars infrequently used) are a problem, but no more so than any other car.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the meter shows a constant of 11v, when car is off and running...

POST 4Original post

Then it sounds like the alternator isn't charging.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

update... yep, it was the generator, just got the car back today. had to pay 710 pounds.... but dammit, car´s warrenty just expired one month ago... win some, loose some.. c:
