Hi all
I'm trying to form a view on a C4S I looked at yesterday. It's due it's 96k (8 year) service based on the car's age which it bang on 8 years.
It's servicing has slipped slightly behind schedule over the years and it had it's last service (Minor Maintenance) back in November which was it's seventh stamp (all OPC). Mileage wise it it well below the 96k
The 8 year service I know is a major one but I can't recall if there are any other items that are also due at 96k/8 years, such as belts etc
The car also seems to only last had it's spark plugs and brake fluid done in 2006 which to me would suggest these are now overdue.
If anyone can help in reminding me whathas to be done as part of the 8 year/96k service that will be helpful and if anyone has any views on likely cost of any 'extra' items that will be greatly appreciated.
Car (subject to inspection) looks really nice but I need to decide what inpact the next service is likely to have cost wise before I decide what, if nay offer to put forward.

I believe that a 96k mile service is a special service on a 996 C4s.
It should include the following (but you need to chceck with the Indy as to what they will do):
* Check all Lights, levels, washers and wiper blades
* Check all electrical devices
* Lubricate locks and hinges
* Change oil and filter
* Check underside of vehicle for fluid leaks
* Check belt
* Check radiator vents for debris and remove
* Change pollen filter
* Check all brake and fuel lines, Tectyl all metal ones
* Check drive shafts and CV boots
* Check all suspension and steering joints
* Check all tyres and do pressures including spare
* Change air filter
* Check and adjust handbrake
* Change spark plugs
* Replace poly rib belt
All the above are for a 48k mile service. In addition, for a 96k mile service:
Manual Car:
* Change Manual gearbox oil
* Change Front differential oil
Tip Car:
* Change ATF oil and filter change
* Change Front differential oil
Brake fluid should be done every two years.
